After going up 28-19, the play calling and decision making by RHS has not been good.
Defensively Manteca does one thing well. Run off tackle. And RHS can’t stop it.

Congrats to Manteca but I am bummed for Rocklin. They really finished strong after looking like it might be a tough season for them. Long bus ride home.
Eh, he’s a good player but I don’t buy NFL caliber. Let’s see how he fares in college first. I’ve seen better players that never made it.
RHS lost this game on the possession after Manteca narrowed the score to 28-26. They were running it very well up to that point and had just scored a 30+ yard rush TD by Elias Brown the previous possession yet they throw 2 short flat passes for pretty much no gain and have to punt.
Then they doubled down on the decision making by punting again down 34-28 with around 4-5 minutes remaining when they had shown no signs of stopping Manteca the previous few possession yielding 5-6 yards a pop.
And guess what? They never got the ball back. So now they’re going home.

Oak ridge who I talked up all year is getting better each week beat Turlock 24-0 and Folsom is about to beat CC. OR will have a huge task to keep that game close. Folsom played very well tnite.
Agree that RHS should be proud of their season. They were nowhere near as good as they had been the past couple seasons yet worked hard and played hard all season and managed to overachieve despite their mistake prone offense and erratic QB play.
Tonight they really blew a prime opportunity to beat a solid Manteca team. Up 9, the offensive play calling was highly questionable and the defense let them down.
But to finish 3-2 in league and advance as far as they did in the postseason was still a nice achievement. It’s more than I expected or would have predicted.

Defensively if GB can seal the edge and muddy up the off-tackle stuff better than RHS did, I like their chances.
Gotta give Coach Cat and his players a lot of credit. After falling flat in league at 1-4 — to then roll undefeated Downey and turn the tables on Del Oro is quite the turn around. Just goes to show that you can’t ever count out a well-coached team.
I’ll be surprised if Coach Cat doesn’t have his boys ready for Manteca next week. The Buffs play the style of ball Coach Cat would appreciate and typically excels at coaching himself.

This is so Awesome for the DLS kids!!!…. After suffering the heartbreaking losses they had and all the negative publicity, etc, they have had to deal with, What a great accomplishment for all of them!!!….
