Week 4 Scoreboard

49-0 now. OR won’t be challenged until 9/30 when they play Folsom which I think will end up determined SFL champ. Taylor has to find a coupe good non league games next year.
Pitman plays Oak Ridge next week. It could be 100-0 OR with a running clock in the first half. Not sure why either team scheduled this.

I’ve been asking for weeks. Balboa couldn’t hang with skyline Oakland last week.

That 41-0 is beyond a gift. Running clock 2Q? Did balboa bring a JV squad? Did oakdale play JV kids? Was that oakdale poster there?
Yes I was there. 55-0. They wanted the game! Running clock second half second half. Second and third string kids playing

St. Mary’s-Stockton 49 St. Ignatius 20 final score

Game was called with 1:05 remaining after injury to St. Mary’s player #10 Jaden Jimenez was taken off of the field on a stretcher (ambulance). Prayers are with young Jaden on a speedy/healthy recovery.

Sloppy game with turnovers by both teams, especially in the 2nd half. From my perspective St. Mary’s started the game flat before taking a 28-0 halftime lead into the locker room. Yet, came out even more flat in the second half. After SI scored from good field position off of a couple SM turnovers in the second half, the Rams D stepped up for a couple of pick 6’s that made up for the poor performance of the offense in the second half. Maybe it was the heat, but it wasn’t that hot and the heat didn’t seem to bother SI as they at times seem to have a bit more energy, at least it was felt on the sidelines.

St. Mary’s should not have a problem next week vs BOD and traveling to Santa Rosa vs Cardinal Newman should not be taken lightly. But, if the Rams play this flat and sloppy vs DLS (unlike how they played vs Central Catholic), their chances for any possibility of an upset victory vs DLS will be very slim.

But why did Oakdale take that game? They were better off scrimmaging their own JV team, if Balboa calling you for a game and your a strong program like Oakdale you should say thanks but no thanks

I think OR had bellarmine and the game got dropped so OR needed a game. Really disappointing to see how bad OR non league is this year. Pleasant Valley from Chico will be a more competitive game but i think OR smashes them as well. Taylor will schedule up next year.

I would love to see st marys and Rancho this year. Rancho is the real deal from the north bay. Newman has been limping along without there star santino Acevedo. He needs to get healthy for newman to be competitive. Otherwise, st marys will have no issues. Newman doesn’t have a real QB so it’s not the dynamic offense they typically have. Sounds like the Rams are sneaking up on some this year!

St. Mary’s this year is very young with mostly juniors as starters. Even at QB, St. Mary’s mixes play with junior #9 Samson Hunkin and freshman (yes, freshman!) #7 Devin Rasmussen, and both are capable in moving the ball. Much depth at RB and WR, as well. The defense is much better than prior years, especially the secondary. Lots of speed. Handicap is the O-line/D-line is not very big, and the team is young and not as experienced at the varsity level. By season’s end, they will be just fine. Indeed, the Rams will be sneaking up on some this year, especially when we get to playoff time. Biggest challenge in league will be Lodi (currently undefeated, as well) and playing some good football. They may be a team that may sneak up on many in the playoffs, as well.

I am not expecting the Rams to take down DLS this year (chances may be better next year). But, if the Rams can be competitive, it will be a good yardstick to better project how good this year’s team is. We’ll see. GO RAMS!

Maybe St. Mary’s and Rancho get a game scheduled for next season???

Hard to figure how good OR is this season. OR struggled with M-A’s speed and athleticism last year. Agree they will have to schedule up next season. Some road trips out of the cozy confines of EDH to the East Bay or Peninsula perhaps.

But why did Oakdale take that game? They were better off scrimmaging their own JV team, if Balboa calling you for a game and your a strong program like Oakdale you should say thanks but no thanks
I see posts on here how teams should take challenging games. So if teams want a challenge other teams should not give them the chance? Oakdale by enrollment is a D4 team. Balboa defending D7 state bowl champion. They want a challenge they step up. It's almost like you are saying this kids don't deserve to get a challenging game?
Now if we want to talk football? Number 66 on JV team from Balboa his parents should be proud. The kid never looked at scoreboard. He is a big boy. That heat was intense. We thought the guy would melt before end of first quarter
Wrong! This kid was on every block on offence and also some D-line play. He has some fans in Oakdale! We have a term in Oakdale. OKG Oakdale kind of guy. Heart grit manning up. He is honorary OKG!

Trust me… not even remotely the same team as last year.
they were terrible last year and basically lost to MA in the last 2 min of the 4th. (I was there). Taylor was named coach in June and had about 8 weeks to assemble what was left over from a great Coach cav team. He left at the right time. This is a very good team. Taylor brought in his own coaches and there line is college size. They have an awesome QB who will play on college at d2 level. They have a soph TE who is 6”7 225 and will eventual end up the highest recruited player in OR over the last decade. He will be on big 10, pac12, and ACC eyes by this summer. He’s a better athlete than lyons from Folsom at same age. and he’s not a marble valley hold back. (Super 8)

I’ve been talking about OR all year. Just wait.
And they will be better next year.

Balboa coach has big aspirations. Appreciate it but you just done get enough athletes/football kids in that area anymore. 20-40 years ago yes, you did.

how many did Balboa suit up? Your guys stadium is intimidating/different with who know how many thousands of fans are there, cowboys hats, and hot weather. Compared to their 80 fans and a cool foggy day in the Excelsior.

Respect what Balboa is trying to do but what he should be doing to Calling good Bay Area/NCS small schools for better competition than AAA. Like St Helena, St Vincent’s, Middletown something like that.

I still say by enrollment Valley Oak league is the best medium public school league (and CC) in CA, and Trans Valley is a damn good “large small school” league. Just good football and community buy in around there.

They aren’t state champs lol they won the lowest tier bowl game California has to offer, just saying Oakdale doesn’t need to take games from the worst public school league in California, say no thank you and let Balboa play a small quality team in their local area

Wow this is ridiculous. Credit Balboa for winning the games that were given to them last year. Great job!

You are vastly overstating Bal Mr Mustang. They got smoked last week to a mediocre Oakland (Skyline team). I know they would not win NCS D7 (lowest). Wake me up when they beat a good NCL 1 (NCS D7) team first. Come on man they had no business playing you with your 3 levels of football plus youth program and only show in town. Oakdale competition level is probably NCS D2ish maybe even D1. CCS they would hang with many WCAL schools as well. Shoot if you want to play a “city team” that won it “all” last year schedule Sacred Heart. I bet you still beat them. Seriously.

No doubt they won the games in front of them but really outside of a few top games it’s bowl game victories, not State Titles

You’re right! Looking back They actually only had 3 playoff games. 2 AAA playoff games, and the bowl game against 7-8 Taft (LA), a team with a losing record! They didn’t even have a NorCal play in game.

There is no way for Oakdale guy to justify that!

Acalanes Dons with a tremendous 42-35 upset win at Sheldon! 2 outstanding running backs on display, Ellis Burger for the Don’s and Devin Green for Sheldon. Huskies OL is huge! Trevor Rogers was special at WR for Dons! Scott Nixon had an excellent game for Sheldon. Very entertaining game! CoCo Gannon had a great game at safety for Acalanes. Dons with a 2 QB system at the moment, Sully Bailey and Jake Boselli splitting time.

A couple of CCS scores that caught me by surprise:

Lincoln-SJ 32-28 over Aragon. The BVAL has been down for a while but Lincoln could make a push in that league. Tayden Phillips is a very good running QB.

King’s Academy 42-0 over Homestead. Evenly matched in terms of talent but Homestead shot themselves in the foot all night. Congrats to Dante Perez on his first win!

What a bunch of whiny armchair coaches! I don't have to justify anything! You belittling the kids for stepping up.. Oakdale is bad for letting them step up? I know you guys on here want to see only MD and SJB teams rout teams
But you know some old farts like to watch REAL high school football. Those kids deserve to come play in the Corral. They worked just as hard as any other team. It's great atmosphere and they deserved to play there! Ask any of the kids from Balboa
They are not the ones whining!
And I am not letting Oakdale fans off easy. When they say Oakdale is down. 90% of teams would love their team to be " down" like Oakdale. And they are so spoiled the gripe about 9 and 3 record.

I think it’s great that Balboa got to play in an environment like Oakdale. Most of their games don’t offer that opportunity. From Oakdale’s standpoint, scheduling one game against a team you expect to roll over isn’t a bad thing. It means the lower part of the depth chart gets to play. Just don’t build a schedule exclusively out of games like that.

The depth actually doesn’t get to play much because it’s a running clock 15 minutes into the game, so they barely get the plays they would get in a more competitive game……no one improves for Oakdale by scoring 50 in a half and running clock by halftime and it truly hurts your SOS for playoff seedings, like i said ur lying to urself if u think Oakdale should have taken that game

Also @Rocknrolus 95361 you talk about good ole tough guy real man football from the 1940s , guess what those real tough guys wouldn’t want to waste their team either driving a team
3 hours away to running clock them, that’s not tough man old school football
