Who are the top coaches in the State?

No Paul Doherty listed in an exhaustive list like this is LAUGHABLE.
I agree 100% with this!!… I actually luv what he has done at Folsom….

He has upped their Schedule and in my opinion last year was one of the best coaching jobs I have seen….

Folsom was looking down and out with 3 losses but he got those kids to believe and he had huge balls putting his season on the line against Jesuit with that 2 pt conversion….

That completely sparked Folsoms great run through the playoffs and ultimately beating DLS which the prior coaching staff never did….

I was very critical of him the year they lost to MT, but I was wrong about him…. He is a great coach in my opinion and I would be Honored to have my kid play for him…. 🍻

Agreed. A great coach and just as great a man!

I dig the list.

what I don’t necessarily care for is the guys at recruiting factories. Negro / Rollinson. Yeah, when you have more talent than you need you’re not easy to beat. It’s like having money.

One guy I want to add to the list is Keith Holden, Half Moon Bay. He doesn’t get any type of anything on the coast side without mentioning they’re a short drive on the 92 away from Serra.

They’re slow, small, unathletic, not very physical and somehow he finds a way to consistently beat the breaks off of teams. He coaches that triple option to perfection and will not blink at the opportunity to ruin your night on special teams. His defenses are usually hell too.

The article was about best coaches, not coaches with most tenure.

Doherty is top 5 in the state. Richardson was also top 5 when he was there.

Was Doherty top 5 at Whitney?

Richardson was good but he didn’t take it to another level until he started winning I. Recruiting. Folsom was 22-18-1 his first four years. Nothing crazy by any stretch of the imagination. Also benefitted greatly from working alongside Troy Taylor.
