Greetings from Dublin!

Stokes nice move for 2…. 47-45 Dublin.

SI scores on a putback to tie it…

and they get it back after a miss…

and they take the lead, nice cut for a score by Vince Crisp. 49-47 SI with 4:17 left in the ballgame.

Bautista hits one in the paint to tie it…

but SI has the answer…. didn’t see who scored, but they scores…. 51-49…. and Dublin travels!

and Crisp nails a 3! 54-49 SI.

Anderson try rolls out, SI rebound…

Raymond Whitley drives, hacked… and it counts! 56-49 SI, a FT coming…. 57-49. What a turnaround!

1:47 left.

Whitley drive, no go… Theo Lamb rebounds fo SI, hacked. FT’s both go, and SI is up by 10.

1:06 to go.

SI gets a couple easy buckets as they get past a desperate, gambling Dublin press…. and Anderson hits a 3 for Dublin, but it’s now 63-54 SI with 20 seconds left. and that’s the final score.

Now we have Weston Ranch v. Bakersfield Christian.

Bakersfield is 0-2, but they have faced two strong opponents in JSerra and West Ranch.

WestON ranch is 1-0 after nipping Fairmont Prep a few days ago.

7-4 Bako early on, 4:37 left 1st. now 7-7. WR’s press finally starting to cause trouble. But not that much…. 10-7 Bako.

now 14-13 WR, hard to keep up…. 49 seconds.

WR has it, 35 seconds now…

Mateen Rafiq forced to take a logo 3, no good… and Bako gets the rebound, races downcourt and scores at the buzzer! Didn’t see who…. but it’s 15-14 Bakersfield Christian after one rather frenetic quarter.

6:32 in the half…. 24-19 Bako. Senior Bentley Waller doing good stuff for them.

32-28 Weston Ranch now…. 1:55 left in the half. then a Bako 3…. 32-31.

WR drive by Richard Banks, score, fouled…. FT is good. 35-31 WR.

37-35 Weston Ranch at the half…. Pretty wild, sloppy game.

The team that settles down in the 2nd half will probably win.

54-48 WR now, 3 minutes in the 3rd.

Bako already has 5 team fouls, 2-shot bonus the rest of the 3rd under the new rule. 55-48 after one of those made….

WR takes advantage of the fouls, and is looking more comfortable, too…. and it is paying off, as they now have a 66-52 lead at the end of the 3rd.

WR is taking over now…. 73-55, and…. they are in the bonus with the next Bako foul, 5:14 left.

77-64, Bako time out…. WR getting a little sloppy with mostly non-starters in. 2:28 left.

85-72 final.

Playor of the game: Izaias White of WR with 22 points and 5 rebounds.

Next up, Riordan v. Roosevelt of Eastvale, CA.

This is Riordan’s opener, and Roosevelt is 4-0 witout a close game among them.

speaking of tall, that doesn’t seem to be Roosevelt’s strong suit…. They have one 6’10” guy, and he must be the guy in streets out at halfcourt. Other than that, their tallest guy listed is 6’5”.

Just looked at the records of Roosevelt’s 4 opponents…. One is 2-2, the others all 0-2. So maybe that 4-0 isn’t as daunting as it looked at first glance.

Sensley hits a corner 3…. 3-0 Riordan.

Sensley again, recovering a teammate’s blocked shot, scores inside…. 5-0 Riordan.

Myles Walker hits a Roosevelt 3…. 5-3 Riordan.

A pair of Roosevelt 3’s, and Riordan calls time. 9-5 Roosvelt. 5:30 left 1st.

Darnez Slater with. Roosevelt 3.. 12-5 Roosevelt. They are using the New Deal, hit 3’s. :)

Roosevelt with another new deal, hit a shot inside, 14-5.

Tech on Tofi, Roosevelt with 1 of 2…. 16-5.

Getting too fast for my feeble fingers of fate…. it’s now 21-8 Roosevelt. 2:25 left 1st.

What a 3-ball blitz…. now 27-11. 1:05 left 1st. Williamson now doing a bit of woofing at Riordan…. Sensley fouled, FT’s good. 27-13.

45-27 at the half…. Riordan has slowed the blitz down a little bit, but not much.

CalHiSports reported Riordan has some sit out players. Tough matchup!

Andrew HIllman is definitely NOT ready to lose this one…. He scores the first 7 points of the quarter, and Riordan is down 45-34.

Roosevelt finally with a score, but Tofi gets a putback, and 1…. well…. 47-36.

Brayden Burries steals inbounds, outruns everyone and throws down…. 52-36.

Sensley’s settling for 3’s at the moment…. 54-36 Roosevelt.

Another Roosevelt score, as Riordan’s pressure is ineffective and allows a layup. 56-36. 4:32 left 3rd.

Alley oop to Sensley…. BAM!! and he scores next time down, too. and ANOTHER alley-oop!! 56-42, but the Riordan bench is jumpin’!!
