Menlo High School CCS Champs and #1 team in the PAL

Menlo High School won its first CCS Football Championship ever and is now the king of the PAL.

I used to mistake this school for the public with the similar name but it is clear this program is on another level. Back to back years in the championship game and somehow this year they were able to get it done.

It is great to see these schools that have all of the odds stacked against them find a way to rise up and overcome.

Menlo isn't even the #1 team in Atherton, much less the entire PAL.

They do also have a few NCS titles in football.

I’ve been to the campus. Yea it’s great to see those kids overcome and prevail despite that environment they are subjected to.

Yea they are and no one can take it away from them.

They are well on their way and this state championship run has been brutal. While all of the other PAL teams are at home MENLO is the one that is still standing.

Soon Menlo will be at the top. #1 in California football rankings.

Number 1 in rankings, as espn says, COME ON MAN.
 
Next year the mighty Knights will schedule Serra, Folsom, and DLS.

They will all kiss the ring
 
I think theres something to be said that former SH coaches in McLaughlin and Hill being on staff has something to do with Menlo's success this season. Well done.
 
The burgeoning Champions League will consist of “champions only”: Menlo, Bellarmine and Palo Alto. Uggghhh.

Great battle of 4th place teams with Hollister. They followed the same formula as last year's SHC team.. Get beaten repeatedly in league and take advantage of the CCS loophole!!

meanwhile, on the hoops front…. The Mitty girls are set to take on the Warriors any time they sign the dotted line up there at the Chase Center. 🙂🙂

A 2023 Menlo football note: The Atherton powerhouse argued to be placed in the PAL's A Division lower half, not the top half (where Los Gatos, M-A, Wilcox and SHP lurk). Menlo was successful in sandbagging the PAL coaches who vote on this stuff each year, although a protest is looming. Very nice work so far.

When the Mitty transfers are eligible to play, the Monarchs will need more than one ball to keep the troops happy. They may actually have too much talent. We'll see.

Such a ridiculous statement suggests a team is losing on purpose so they can slide into lower competition for playoffs. RIDICULOUS.
