8-2 MC early on…. The 2 that Downey scored were tech FT’s after MC stole, dunked, taunted…. certainly didn’t hang on the rim…. halfway thru the 1st.

16-7 MC after 1…. Not quite to blowout status yet, but it’s riiight on the edge…

23-19…. I guess Downey didn’t get the memo that said they don’t belong…. MC scores with a few seconds left in the half to make the haftime score 25-19.

25-all now, great run by Downey…. The red “Upset Alert” sign is flashing…

MC gets the lead back, 27-25…. a steal, but great D by Downey makes him lose it out of bounds.

Downey ties it up, nice move….

MC scores in the paint, 29-27… Downey fumbles it over the baseline, had a chance but no…


MC calls time to avoid a turnover. 2:29 left.

MC gets it inside, Oseya fouled on a putback try. FT’s split, but MC rebounds the miss…. but Downeys gets a stop. 30-27. MC steal and runout…. 32-27.

Oseya with a great swat, but Downey steals the attempted runout…

Another Oseya swat, another runout turned back…. This time Downey scores at the buzzer. 32-29 after 3.

3-ball for Downey! 33-32.

Downey steal…. but an offensive foul, clearout. 6:12 left.

MC scores, 35-32…Downey 3! 35-all.

Downey rebounds a miss…5 minutes.

two point-blank tries, no go…. 4:44.

For the first time all day, the feed is jumpy…. will have to hang in there.

Foul, MC’s #2 at the line, hits 1 of 2.

Back-door cut, Downey takes the lead!

And they rebound a miss…. 3:55.

Oseya with another block…

Charging! Downey ball, up by 1…. 3:22 left.

Downey gets a shot in the paint, no go…. and MC responds with a 3!. 39-37 MC, about 3 minutes left…

Oseya with yet another block, MC gets it downcourt, Downey foul…. #12 of MC at the line. front end missed!

Downey 3 bounces out, MC rebound…. 1:40 left, MC calls time in the forecourt. 39-37 MC.

MC’s #1 hits a BIG 3…. 42-37. 46.8 seconds…

Now 30.8 seconds, Downey calls time with the offense going nowhere.

MC steals the inbounds pass…. Foul, front end FT missed, but he grabs his own miss…. time out, looks like MC’s gonna avoid the big upset.

18 seconds, MC still has it.Downey foul, 1 and 1…. front end drops, back end also…. 44-37, MC commits a foul, not a great idea…. no FT’s yet, tho, so maybe that was okay.

Downey’s desperation heave hits the floor…. and that’s the final, 44-37.
