Sacramento State to build 25,000 seat football stadium

Apparently Vivek has offered up Golden1 to Sac St at a heavy discount. I still don’t see how it would be feasible for a college team to play their full time, with the tight scheduling guidelines in place by college conferences. I’m unaware of any professional arenas sharing with a College team on a full time basis. Seems more likely some sort of shared schedule where certain games could be held at G1C.

That said, many of the movers and shakers in the region are lining up to support. Bottom line - this Sac St to FBS seems to be gaining some steam - let’s hope to keeps progressing.

HMB sits @ 5-0 how far will they go in new format?

If they remain on their current path, it's unlikely they'll be competing in the regionals. Right now, they're slated to be in NCS D-1, which means they'll have to go through SRV, Pitt, or even DLS to make it to the state playoffs. I think they're good, but not that good.
Need to read through the thread before reply and I waste key strokes 🤣

What makes you think Palma will lose to Monterey? Certainly possible, but the results on the field so far don't suggest that.

What makes you think Monterey can't beat Palma? Palma will struggle with teams that spread the field and are faster than them. Emarrcis Turner did whatever he wanted to Palma DBs. I would imagine Kavon Collins will do the same. Their offense is one dimensional. You won't shut down Eli Dukes and the run game, but you can play disciplined football and limit the big plays. Can Monterey play disciplined football for 4 quarters is a big question. I think its a 50/50 game. I wasn't there, but I heard Monterey appeared to be the superior team in the scrimmage against Palma. Ya I know it was just a scrimmage.

Curious have you actually seen Monterey play?

Wondering where Cardinal Newman may end up in regionals. They could be a tough in the lower divisions.

If Palma loses to Soquel and Monterey, they will be close to dropping to DIII. I thought I saw somewhere that they would have been DIII last year even without the forfeits. It would probably be best for a competitive division for them to end up in DIII. Otherwise its likely that Carmel and HMB will roll through everyone.

NCS Open..

Marin Catholic best player BBD is out for a long time too so teams are going to catch MC without their best most explosive player, MC can’t shake the injury bug this year
Well, it may not be all doom and gloom. It’s possible they could end up winning by losing.

Right now, they are rated #6 in the NCS. If they drop a game or two, they’ll likely get knocked out of the top 8. That means, they will only play (at most) in D-4.

The craziest thing would be if San Marin ends up #8. They’re currently #9. I can see a “for the best of the bracket” be used here to move Clayton Valley (current #10) to the Open, while Liberty (current #8) and San Marin play in D-2.

Zags to leave WCC

I'm sure the Zags will be excellent... I haven't paid any attention to what their recruiting/portal performance been like this year, but I'm pretty sure they are wayyyyyyyy more-than-decent.

And St. Mary's, even without Aidan, look ready to make a good bit of noise again.

And I think both the Zags and the Gaels will remain regulars in the top 25 or higher for years to come in the future; they've laid the groundwork.

But yeah, football. Hmmm...

NCS Open..

Its still early and Newman has a huge game against a very good Windsor team but if they win that (which I fully expect) then I don't see how Newman won't be in the open especially if they get by Marin Catholic as well.

SFL This Week 9-27

Isn't Ryder Lyons an El Do Hills transfer in?? was a hold back in 8th grade?? Nasty rumors or truth?
No rumors.
Ryder Lives in EDH
Gruele Lives in EDH
Both are super 8. I have nothing but love for them as players. Ryder will almost certainly re class and be done after this season.

Another QB from Folsom left JV and is now at OR. Think his dad plays in pro's. He will likely be the starter in 2025 for OR.
