SFL Updates

Yeah Folsom is very solid. Totally agree. If they shoot it well they are very dangerous. They had 19 3's against Mater Dei. That is nuts.
Whitney plays in D2 so they will be solid in playoffs.
Rocklin is down this year. Losing those guards hurt them.
I wouldn't say Rocklin is down this year. They have actually played a real schedule and the results are showing. If they played this schedule last year I don't think their records would be much different.

SFL Updates

Folsom can play against any team in NorCal!
Rocklin, Jesuit consistent.
Oak Ridge at 2-2 in SFL and just defeated Whitney
Del Oro had a great season last year.
Davis not anything like last year.

Granite Bay (tough schedule) doing better in league play.
Whitney will go to SJS playoffs, so still some time for SFL to make some noise.

SFL Updates

Nothing major to report.
Folsom continues to roll in league. Maybe.... and I'm sort of doubtful Jesuit can give them a game.
Last Night
Jesuit 59-Rocklin 55 - Good OT win by Mauraders as they improve to 4-0.
Folsom 64 DO 43 - Bulldogs cruised and improve to 15-2 overall and 4-0 in league.
OR 71 Whitney 61 - Edwards is back and OR isn't bad with him on the Floor. He dominated the smaller Wildcats. OR evens league up at 2-2 and is at Jesuit on Friday night. Whitney is young and should be pretty solid next year.
GR 86 Davis 42 What can you say about Davis hs sports? Not much.

Folsom 4-0
Jesuit 4-0
Rocklin 2-2
GB 2-2
Whitney 2-2
DO 0-4
Davis 0-4

Like I said before. Pretty down league this year.

Hangin’ out at Serra today…

I had some genius JV takes, but those are lost to the wrong-thread ether…

Anyway, Serra has just one loss, to Jesuit, whose only loss is to SI, interestingly enough…

Riordan is 6-4. but they are playing really well here and lead 19-15 at halftime…

Sheeeesh…. took me to halftime to goof up, then correct…
I think you meant Serra's only loss was to De La Salle whose only loss is to SI.

NCS open-division 3 seedings

Still confused if you are trying to project what the playoffs will look like at the end of the year, where you think things stand as of right now, or if you are trying to interpret the current maxpreps rankings for us. The only thing that matters is the maxpreps rankings come middle of February
It all starts to change at this time of the year. It is confusing and it is evolving. In its first year of being produced and closely watching over Mp algorithm.

November , December we make most of the rankings on our own. MP plays minimal role due to its large inaccuracy. As the season gos on MP role increases. At this point during the season. We are (usually) looking one week out.

The toughest situation during this time of the season. Is when a team is not as good as its ranking or is better than. Lets take “
not as good as the example. Let’s say they have a schedule that has them favored in every matchup. Do we try to predict where they will end up at the end on Mp ? Or do we place them where they belong, based on how good they are ? The answer is evolving . The final destination is for it to predict where they will finish. We will need the league playoff matchups to be able to do so. For now we still have some runway to work with…

One example of the difference is with Marin Catholic. Looking at Orbels maxpreps list MC is ranked 7th in division 3 . “The real NCS list” moved Marin Catholic from div 3 into div 2. This move was made 5 days ago. Tommorow max preps will possibly catch up to the move?
