I hate to say this but the honest truth is parents will hide behind reality simply based on the fact that the school will not come out and publicly say who the perpetrators were and where they actually live / where the reported to live. They know the truth but its all smoke and mirrors until the get aired out publicly. I feel for the Principal, I know he's done the foot work to find out what's going. He doesn't deserve the slander.

Honestly, I hate what High School sports have become some times. A lot of these high profile coaches can only coach Uber-talented players and would not win half as much as they do without the shady shit they do in order to recruit kids. I remember a conversation I had with a coach (who oddly enough still coaches within the WCCUSD) who shared his hate for the CIF saying they need to stay out of the business of student-athletes.

Scouting Report: Grant 2025 DE Jeremiah Tuiilelia

Jeremiah Tuiilelia 6-foot-2, 240 pounds (Committed to San Diego State

Sr. Stats (8 Games): 66 tackles, 11 sacks
Jr. Stats (15 Games): 130 tackles, 23 sacks

Tuiilelia is an undersized defensive end, but is also one of the most complete defensive players in Northern California. He gets off the ball with a quick first step, has active hands to beat blocks and finishes plays well coming around the edge. While he is a talented pass rusher, he also plays the run well setting the edge and not running himself out of plays. Tuiilelia was an All-NorCal pick as a junior and is on the short list for NorCal Defensive Player of the Year.

Tuiilelia committed to San Diego State on September 22.

Surprise surprise, you mean the D1 QB from Logan parents didn’t just happen to have a job
Transfer that happened by chance to magically land in the EC district ? I was fooled for sure
Was wondering how EC got so good. I mean, they’re generally very competitive in their enrollment group, but they aren’t good enough to be scheduling a DLS level team under normal circumstances for them

WCAL Week Five

Wondering out loud: Does SHC have a reasonable shot at upsetting SI next week? Tough to get a firm handle on that matchup that began during the Jurassic Age. SI clearly is favored. But SHC is not to be taken lightly at this juncture. They have some nice weapons on offense. Their QB is one of the best in the league. Scratching my dome on this one.
Honestly last year SH has zero shot at beating SI mainly because their defense last season was porous. Early on in non-league for this season it appeared the players were not going to repeat the the lack of physicality on defense with a good win vs run heavy SH Prep. However, the following week vs Wilcox showed severe regression as Wilcox ran all day and all night.

SH turned it around with COMPETITIVE showings vs Serra, Mitty, and VC. I would handicap the matchup vs SI for SH as +14.5 underdogs. They will lose if they dont contain Hogan and Malone. Defensively SH is very solid in the secondary as far as covering WR but stopping the run is their achilles heal.

Also a huge factor is whether or not the come out of this week's game vs St. Francis with no injuries. Lancers have a lot of big players and they are super physical and SH has no depth and cannot afford to lose anymore players. They are already without 2 of their best linemen (#99 Bellamy and #54 Forks).

WCAL Week Five

That's 4 home games with away games Bellarmine, Mitty and Sacred Heart (Kezar, SH home team). With 7 league games all teams are either 4 & 3 or 3 & 4 home and away. Yes, their biggest games have been at home this year but that's just the way the WCAL schedule has worked out. Two of their 3 non-league games were away. Next year it will be the opposite.
I'm not saying it is a bad thing and I understand schedules have an ebb and flow each year. I just think it is notable with getting the top teams all at home.

Sabrina Ionescu with GW 3 pointer

There will be a lockout/work stoppage in 2026. The question is how long ...

I'm biased, but I can't think of another NorCal female basketball player who's come close to what Sabrina Ionescu has done. And it's not like she's an off-the-charts athlete who just relies on physical ability to succeed.
It'll be interesting to see what they're actually looking for. I'd imagine they may have to change the entire model to command a fraction of the NBA money. With only 40 regular season games and working for 5 months (less this year if you include the Olympics), I'd be interested to see what they're looking for. It's similar to men's and women's tennis. For men, it's a best of 5; for women, it's a best of 3; yet at all the major tournaments, it's equal pay. I'm not suggesting going to an 80-game schedule and then commanding NBA money...just interested to see what the players will be asking.

You're right, Clay. Nobody has come close to accomplishing what she has. NCAA player of the year, All-NBA team, WNBA champion...pretty impressive for a kid coming from Orinda. Here's an interesting fact. The Lamorinda area has produces 7 Olympic athletes, 3 NFL players, 2 golfers, a few lacrosse professional athletes, and now an WNBA champion. Not bad for a small community.

A long rivalry reverses

Bellarmine was originally known as Santa Clara Preparatory as the prep school for Santa Clara University. When it moved to the College Park neighborhood (on land once owned by College of the Pacific), the name was changed to Bellarmine Preparatory. Now it's Bellarmine College Preparatory.
Santa Clara Preparatory... Sounds like it might be a college. Colleges faced high schools a LOT during the early days of college football.

There was nothing wrong with this at the time

2024/2025 what Freshman will make the most impression in NorCal this season?

A few that I have watched this fall is Dorrough from MT. He is legit 6-8 and has a big frame and soft hands. Don’t want to make any crazy predictions but he looks to be pretty special for a frosh. Weaver at Folsom and Phillips and Jesuit both looked good in games I saw.
Sounds like a Big threat for MT!! Weaver and Phillips, I will look forward in watching them develop. I think Zaire will start for our team this season. Four Guards and a Big.

WCAL Week Five

St. Ignatius has five of their seven league games at home this year including Serra, Riordan, St. Francis and now Valley Christian. Schedule has set up well for them in this regard and St. Ignatius has taken advantage of it

I heard from a fellow coach they had several players using the same address in Richmond, none of them actually lived there, the implication was none of them actually live in district

Suggestions for Modifying CCS Play-off rules

Difficult to define how much your hard is appreciated. I'm curious to know how much of each week's work you have been able to automate? Any idea how many hours you spend on each week's projections. From someone who used to help figure out just where "my" school was going to be slotted in the play-offs I stand amazed at how you are able to do this.
