Tamalpais gets walk-off win

Tamalpais beat Redwood 3-2 in eight innings in the first of two games this week. The two teams will play again on Friday.

Matteo Bellisimo had a double and reached base three times for Tamalpais. Kaiden Dossa got the start and gave up one run over five innings.

For Redwood, Charlie Welch went 2-for-3 with a RBI. Rory Minty gave up two runs (one earned) over six innings for the Giants.

2023 Player Watch: Journey McKoy DB De La Salle

The secondary is usually an area of strength for the Spartans and Journey McKoy (5-foot-11, 165 pounds) will be one of their top options this coming season. McKoy is a playmaking defensive back who can play deep coverage from the safety position and track the ball. He also has good speed which shows up as a runner too. He committed to Nevada on Saturday.

Stuart Hall Postseason Accolades

Cal Hi Sports just named Stuart Hall senior Brandon Lum their D5 player of the year. A great honor and first player in Hall history to win a Cal Hi Sports State POY Award!

Earlier this week they named Hall Coach Charley Johnson D5 coach of the year.

I know the negative comments will come naturally, but I thought these two deserved recognition for their accomplishments.

It should be noted that during the Mt Shasta game, there was no mention made but Coach J let a Mt Shasta player have their moment after the Hall took a big enough lead. Stuff like this often goes unrecognized, but their is more to coaching then just coaching a game.

Pleasant Valley is off to a 16-1 start

Pleasant Valley has been pretty dominant against a mostly Northern Section schedule, but it does have wins over Lincoln and Rio Americano. Five players have double digit RBI and seven players have double digit runs scored. On the mound, RJ Priddy has gone 6-0 with a 0.91 ERA. In total, they have outscored their opponents 126-42.

Today, the Vikings will take on 17-4 Foothill-Palo Cedro
