2023 Player Watch: Sailasa Vadrawale WR/DB Rancho Cotate

Rancho Cotate's Sailasa Vadrawale (5-foot-11, 170 pounds) can line up at multiple positions. He is dangerous catching the ball short and making defenders miss, but he also uses good route running to get open down the field. On defense, he hunts for turnovers and can find the ball coming down on the receiver and going back. Last year, he had 941 receiving yards and eight touchdowns to go with four interceptions. He has offers from UNLV, Fordham, Army and New Mexico State.

Who Is Leroy Jenkins?

Who is Leroy Jenkins ?

I have sussed him out, and I believe I know who he is.

Leroy Jenkins is an Evangelistic Preacher . You can google him. It is believed he hit on a way to influence young people thru sports.

If you notice, his strident and harsh posts allow no quarter as to other peoples reasoning. And he brooks no thoughts other than his own. He is a man on a mission and won’t be deterred.

He seemingly has spent time doing research to try and become familiar with Northern California prep sports. It will be interesting to see what this poster will bring to the table. Hopefully something positive once in a while.

Here’s wishing you great football

Berkeley is a team to watch

Berkeley (11-5) has built a strong resume and has given up less than three runs per game. Following a 0-3 start against Bullard, Clovis West and Heritage, the Yellowjackets have won 11 of 13 games with wins over St. Mary’s-Stockton, Monte Vista, Vacaville and Acalanes. Their last two losses have come to Vanden (19-2) and Bear Creek (15-5).

On the mound, Berkeley is paced by seniors Luca McKerley (5-1, 1.63 ERA) and Darrell Mays (4-0, 1.72 ERA). The duo has 59 strikeouts in 59 combined innings.

New Liberty Head Coach and BVAL News

- Word is that Mike Cain is the new head coach at Liberty. I believe he has been the head coach at Prospect in San Jose.

- There has been a lot of transfer movement, with Clayton valley receiving roughly a dozen transfers. Majority from Pittsburg, but definitely spread out from entire BVAL.

- Heritage’s starting quarterback Jacob Wasso has transferred to Freedom

- Maurice Jones-Drew is spear heading an influx of players from East County Youth Football where his son played to go to De La Salle where his son will be an incoming Frosh.

If anyone else can elaborate or chime in, feel free.

2023 Player Watch: Alani Noa OL Grant

Grant offensive guard Alani Noa (6-foot-4, 355 pounds) is a handful in the mold of some of the standout lineman Grant used to produce on a regular basis. He is athletic for his size and has very good strength to create openings in the run game. Noa holds offers from Arizona, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Washington, Washington State, Wyoming and Fresno State.

Sacramento State hires David Patrick

David Patrick is the new head coach at Sacramento State. He was the head coach at UC Riverside before assistant stops the past two years at Arkansas and Oklahoma. Looks like a really quality hire for the Hornets.

That said, this report paints the picture of a less than ideal transition from Brandon Laird - https://statehornet.com/2022/04/wha...r-mishandling-of-his-departure-as-head-coach/

A Cause Worth your Time

I don't usually post things like this, but I wanted to share with the community about a way to help a player and her family through a difficult time

2023 Player Spotlight: Jerry Mixon LB Sacred Heart Cathedral

Sacred Heart Cathedral linebacker Jerry Mixon Jr. (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) has developed into one of the best prospects in NorCal for this coming class. He has good size, is a strong run defender and can make some plays as a pass defender. He was also a threat as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Mixon was co-utility player of the year in the WCAL this past fall. He has been offered by Arizona, Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, UCLA, San Jose State, Nevada, San Diego State and UNLV.
