WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING GAME YOU HAVE SEEN IN 2015?

I CAN THINK OF THREE OFF HAND....The Freedom-Amador Valley game, the Pittsburg-Antioch game and the Freedom-Antioch game.....In the Freedom-Amador Valley game, going into the final minute of play, it looked like Amador valley had the game in the bag as they pulled ahead 28-24 with about 20 seconds left in the game and it looked like most of the Freedom fans were ready to go home when Freedom came up with a hook and ladder play where the QB hit the receiver who looked to be boxed in, only to have the receiver laderal the ball to a running back and he raced down the side line with about 12 seconds to play in the game and it became 31-28.
The Pittsburg game was also a come from behind game as the Pirates had a 14 point lead in the fourth quarter, only to see the Panthers led by Harris sneak up on Pittsburg for a 44-42 win At one point in the third and fourth quarters, the Pirate line was bottling up Harris, but it couldn't last for ever..a packed house sure got their monies worth..
The Foothill-Antioch game was also a wild finish as the Falcons had built up a big lead only to have the Panthers coming roaring back from a 30 point deflect, but only to loose 55-54...Any body out there seen a wild finish in 2015...

City of HALF MOON BAY throws parade for CCS CHAMPS

Half Moon Bay High School’s boys cross-country and football teams were honored with a parade through downtown Half Moon Bay on Sunday morning.
It’s been a mostly rainy month, but it’s as if the heavens were honoring the Cougars on Sunday. Bright, sunny skies greeted the athletes and supporters alike. Head coaches and dignitaries piled into spiffy cars and the athletes themselves made the trek on foot from the I.D.E.S. Hall north to Mac Dutra Plaza.

It’s unusual for Cougar sports teams to be honored with a parade, but it wasn’t a first. The 2005 CCS champion football team was also honored in the streets of Half Moon Bay.

Coach Summerville

DFAL Predictions 1/15

Dougherty over Acalanes- Game will be closer then most think because a little let down after big win at Campo.

Dublin over Miramonte- Gaels stumbled early against Dougherty but have rebounded well and still have league title in their sights.

Las Lomas over Alhambra- Weak preseason schedule has done the Knights no favor in the tough DFAL. Beat Campo at their weakest and have now lost back to back games (Acalanes & Dublin). Just what any struggling team needs, to see Alhambra on their schedule to stop a losing streak. Las Lomas big and hopefully get back on track.

DVAL Predictions 1/15

Clayton Valley over Concord- Concord plays no defense but they can score the basketball, Bamberger is the deciding factor here, he knows how to coach and how important the cross town rivalry is.

College Park over Ygnacio- Not sure I've seen a worse team then the Warriors, they are flat out bad.

Northgate over Mt. Diablo- Broncos win big and a great time in the season to play everyone.

EBAL Predictions 1/15

DLS over Foothill, let's see if the Spartans defense gets back on track, the same defense I saw that held Serra to 25 points.

Monte Vista over Cal- Mustangs fine tuning before the showdown with DLS.

San Ramon over Granada- Depends on which Matador team shows up, could be an upset in the making.

Amador over Livermore- Dons are young but too talented to lose this one.

BVAL Predictions 1/15

Heritage over Liberty, this should be the best game of the night in this league. Heritage is to well coached and to deep to lose this one but expect it to be much closer then expected. Don't look a head to the Freedom match up next week or you will get beat.

Freedom over Antioch- One sided game here.

Pitt over Deer Valley- Good match up for both teams, is Deer Valley 8-5 cause of a soft schedule? Is Pitt making strides in the right direction?

LL Cool J - I mean A.J. Kuhle

http://www.sfgate.com/sports/article/De-La-Salle-coach-A-J-Kuhle-has-friends-in-high-6760069.php
By Mitch Stephens

For a moment, De La Salle athletic director Leo Lopoz thought it was a hoax.

“This is Gregg Popovich calling in a reference for A.J. Kuhle,” the voice said on the other end of the phone line in the spring.

Oh, sure, Lopoz thought. A five-time NBA champion and surefire Hall of Fame coach was calling to make a recommendation on a high school basketball coaching job. Right.

Then Lopoz remembered. Kuhle (pronounced “Cool”), a former Air Force and longtime University of Denver assistant, had put Popovich on his resume.

“I was just shocked and excited to be able to talk to such a legend,” Lopoz said. “He gave A.J. high praise in all areas on the court, but more importantly he confirmed how good he would be off the court as a leader and mentor.”

Kuhle got the job, replacing Frank Allocco, who took the associate head coaching job under Rex Walters at USF after 18 successful seasons at De La Salle. Allocco went 487-71 at De La Salle and claimed two state titles, including the school’s first in 2000, when Kuhle was a standout do-everything wing.

Kuhle is doing everything right thus far for the Spartans, who are 12-1, ranked No. 1 by The Chronicle and host the 19th Martin Luther King Jr. Classic on Monday at Haas Pavilion. Led by USF-bound Jordan Ratinho and fellow fourth-year starterNikhil Peters, both 6-foot-5 guards, the Spartans average 74 points per game while allowing 44.

“This team is very similar to our 2000 team,” Kuhle said. “They have the same personality, the same passion for the game. And they really like each other. They do everything together. Just like our 2000 team did. It translates on the court.”

After playing at De La Salle, Kuhle took his game to Air Force, where he started three seasons, earned All-Conference honors and led the Falcons to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 42 seasons.

It’s also where he met Popovich, whose first job, like Kuhle’s, was as an assistant at Air Force. Popovich never forgot his roots and helped arrange a team trip to Denmark when Kuhle was a senior.

The two met then, the Spurs invited Kuhle to play on a summer squad, and both were a part of USA Basketball in Colorado Springs. Popovich, one of nine NBA coaches to win more than 1,000 games, obviously was impressed.

“I cherish my relationship with Coach Popovich and definitely utilized him as a mentor,” Kuhle said. “He’s obviously one of the best in the business. … But I’ve tried to take something from all those I’ve worked with. And I’ve worked with some great mentors.”

Among them have been Richmond head coach Chris Mooney, Denver coach Joe Scott and Memphis Grizzlies assistant Jeff Bzdelik.

Perhaps the most influential, however, was legendary Air Force boxing coach Eddie Weichers, who taught Kuhle the art of instruction and process. Kuhle watched Weichers as a first-year graduate assistant.

“The growth of his students captivated me and pushed me into the direction of coaching,” Kuhle said. “He pushed students to reach their maximum ability but also made it fun.”

So far, so fun for the Spartans, who share the ball, love to shoot and strenuously root for one another on the bench. It’s not contrived.

“They all want to be successful for one another,” Kuhle said. “It’s been fun to watch and be a part of.”

With such a resume and so many important people in his corner, how long will Kuhle be a part of De La Salle. It seems like higher ranks will come calling.

“De La Salle is a very special place,” he said. “It was the only job I pursued. I try to teach the players to be present and I try to be present myself. I love where I am right now.”
