It seems as if Bellarmine has a slightly easier path to future regional state football games based on the current ccs playoff system. But doesn't Serra have enough enrollment to qualify them for CCS div1 to give the bells some competition (if both make future playoffs) or do they only qualify for div 2 which would make it an even more competitive division in years to come. if i had a son that wanted to play football and he was top quality college recruit, maybe i would think of exposure and increase that chances by going to a school that would have a great probability in going to regional/state games.

St. Francis beat El Cerrito in an exciting, well-played game, breaking open a close one with an impressive run in the 3rd quarter, then holding on to win 73-68. These teams look like they'll go deep in the playoffs, and could even meet again in the NorCals. The new-find guy, at least for me, is sophomore guard Logan Johnson of St Francis. He is 6'3"', quick with nice hops... Sees the floor well, makes hard passes look easy, plays tough on the defensive end. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get multiple D1 offers... If he hasn't already.

In the other semi, Sacramento broke open a seesaw battle with Capital Christian early in the 4th quarter and won 75-59 in a game that was far better than that score might indicate. Both of these teams also look they'll go far.

If anyone can kindly post game updates here, that'd be rad. Great chance for WCAL to have two league teams in State Finals. I did some film research on Pleasant Grove--looks like some bruising football, I just don't know if they have the athletes to keep up 4-quarters with Lancers. I see them keeping it a 1 score game until half until the Lancers break the game more open a bit in the second half to get a 28-17 final.

Coach Kevin Macy complaining that Campolindo with 1254 students faces Milpitas with 3100+ students. On the surface this seems like a mismatch but keep in mind that the kids that live in the Lafayette/Orinda area have the choice of three schools they can attend, Campolindo, Acalenes or Miramonte. Most of the best football players choose Campo and have the luxury of playing traditional D3 public school opponents. I venture to guess that the vast majority of Milpitas team is from a three or four mile radius of the school. With the exception of Strother, Milpitas has a big size advantage, but size isn't everything.

The combined enrollment at those three schools = 3827 as opposed to 3105 at Milpitas. Not that big of a difference.

I know little about Liberty so have some research to do. Anyone have 411 on Liberty i.e. speed, size, offensive and defensive schemes?

Not a pretty game, but De La Salle was very good defensively. Nice size across the board, especially with Ratinho and Peters on the perimeter. Offense is more open, but still work in progress as to be expected.

Serra struggled some on offense trying to get Wilson the ball inside while getting everyone else involved. They will need Killingsworth to score 15-20 a night to challenge for league title. Defense was good as usual for the Padres.
