Big time Basketball coming to NorCal this weekend (Jan 29-31st)

GrindFlyerPAGE.jpg

The Crush in the Valley finally is here this coming weekend (January 29-31st) at Napa Valley College. The event will include some of the top high school players in the country. The next two potential #1 NBA Draft picks may be not only at the event, but playing head-to-head. This event is run by Tanager Sports and the GRIND SESSIONS, which included Napa Valley as one of their legs to the GRIND SESSIONS.

Friday night there is two games, with #1 2018 Deandre Ayton (7-Feet) against 7-1" Thon Maker (#1 player in Canada). That game will be at 6pm. Following the game is Prolific Prep vs Victory Prep (top #5 2017 Jarrad Vanderbilt) matched up vs Josh Jackson.

Saturday night is going to be very entertaining Before the 6pm Prolific Prep game vs Deandre Ayton is the performance of the Golden State Warriors "Flying Dubs" Dunk Team. The Dunk team will also preform a 2nd time at half-time.

Both days will also include a 50-50 raffle, VIP seating/room, as well as DJ for entertainment. This event is looking to sell out, so please get to the games early to get a good seat. The event is covered nationally by some of the top media outlets in sports flying into town! We want the GRIND SESSIONS to come back to Napa in the future, so please come support this great and entertaining event.

For any questions, please call (707) 849-1212 or email info@prolificprep.org

*Those that are VIP Sponsors will be able to attend the Saturday night social including college coaches, media, sponsors, and staff.

WCAL Soccer Results

SHC Tied Bellarmine 1-1. Irish have Riordan, Mitty and SI left.

Mitty beat Serra 3-1. Mitty has St. Francis, SHC and VC left.

Valley Christian beat Riordan 2-1. Riordan has SHC, St. Francis and Serra left.

VC has Bellarmine, SI and Mitty left.

Serra has SI, Bellarmine and Riordan left.

Mitty has St. Francis, SHC and VC left.

If all goes as expected, Riordan will have to beat last place Serra to stay out of the cellar. At the very least, they'll have a better season record than Valley Christian.

On the Frosh level, SHC lost to Bellarmine 1-0 but they still have a chance to win or tie for the WCAL championship.

NCS D1 Seeding Projections after 2/5/16

1-DLS
2-Freedom (a win at Heritage on 2/9 could secure a 2 seed)
3-Dougherty (solidifying their position with the Campo win)
4-Dublin (need Dougherty to lose to Miramonte to overtake them)
5-Heritage (the Pitt loss hurts their chances of a 2 seed even if they beat Freedom on 2/9)
6-MV (barring an upset of DLS don't see them as a top 4 with the loss to Foothill)
7-Castro Valley (4 wins in a row, 3 final games will loom large in the seeding process)
8-Foothill (big win over MV)
9-Pittsburg (on a nice 3 game winning streak)
10-Logan
11-Berkeley
12-San Leandro
13-Liberty (no real quality NCS wins)
14-California (big win over AV)
15-Amador Valley
16-Clayton Valley
17-Santa Rosa
18-College Park

Ranking Make No Sense Like Always

How does a team loose and only move down one spot. All I have to say is WOW. They need to take a lesson from NCAA Duke lost and ranking dropped to #20. But everyone knows that will never change but the good thing about helps fuel the Brookside to prove them wrong. Brookside is like the Detroit Pistons of the old year with Isaiah Thomas everyone hate on them but the won the NBA CHAMPIONSHIP. JUST let it be know Brookside is not going away no time soon.Pico is building a great program like he did Oakland Tech.

Open Division In Each Section

Open division in each section would help decided the top teams in each Section. Just think of these sections open teams

SJS
1) SMS
2) Brookside
3) Vanden
4) Oak Ridge
5) Antelope
6) MC
7) Lincoln
8) Sac High

NCS
1) MM
2) BOD
3) Salesian
4) SMB
5) Carondelet
6) Cardinal Newman
7) Castro Valley
8) Campolindo

CCS
1) Mitty
2) Pinewood
3) SHC
4) Valley Christian
5) Menlo
6) Presentation
7) Scotts Valley
8) ESP

This my opinion who would be the 2 top teams in each division
SJS
1) SMS 2) BROOKSIDE
NCS
1) MM 2) BOD
CCS
1) MITTY 2) PINEWOOD
THIS WOULD FILL 6 SEEDS AND 2 MORE AT LARGE BETHS FROM S3CTION
My guess would be SHC and Carondelet or Salesian.

Does anyone have any other guesses. Remember this is only an opinion! !!!

Info on summer camps

Athletic Directors please get this information about summer football camps to your football coaches as soon as possible. The following bylaw will be used in our section (SJS) and throughout the state if it is passed at April’s Federated Council meeting. This bylaw will be voted on in the first week of April at the Board of Managers meeting and the Federated Council meeting.

TEAM CAMPS: Any school attending or hosting a team camp must have the approval of the school principal, league commissioner, and the superintendent or his/her designee. Team camps must include a minimum of four schools. A student may only attend one camp for a maximum of five consecutive days. The following equipment will be permitted at team camps provided it is used in a safe manner: balls; air dummies; stand-up dummies; blocking shields; blocking sleds; tackling dummies; and blocking aprons.

HELMETS, SHOULDER PADS AND LEG PADS ARE PROHIBITED

Note:
1. Individual camps are not affected by this bylaw as long as the member school's equipment is NOT used.
2. These bylaws will follow you for all out of state football camps.

I just received this earlier this morning. Seems to clarify the summer camp situation.

Looks like Brookside Christian is reloading already for next year by picking up #4 in the country in coming freshman class of 2020's Maile Williams PG/G out Sac area. While other are reloading players Brookside reload top ranking players that already making name for themselves . Google her and see for yourself. The question is why did she pick Brookside over others.
