Shurod Thompson Leaves Pitt

Thompson is transfering to Liberty in Brentwood. Sounds like a good move for everyone involved. Galli and his staff are really shaping Pitt to a respectful program again with team first priorities.

Also heard Dawon Boyd transferred to Antioch from Deer Valley. A lot of moving in the BVAL area I guess. Antioch has three 3 star recruits and Nahjee Harris next year. They will be tough come D2 playoffs for Clayton and Concord.

This will be a valuable and rewarding experience for these young men. Please spread the word to anyone you feel would be interested in taking advantage of this opportunity.

HS STRENGTH PROGRAM THAT WORKS

Coaches,
I have spent
time with several strength coaches from NC, SC, and VA and have formulated a
plan that works well at the High School level.
We have been able to implement this plan at Havelock HS and it has
helped our football program to become one of the best programs in the
state. This program helped us to win
three 3A State Championships and a runner-up appearance in the last four
years. It is very easy to install at the
high school level and has several different variations to keep your athletes
off balance. Variation and muscle
confusion is what makes our players continue to grow and improve in their
over-all athletic ability. In this plan
I have included our detailed work-outs for in-season, off-season, and summer. I will also include our red and blue wall %
charts, several weight room changeups, a speed and agility workout,
unconventional but very relative warm-ups, and a dvd that will show and explain
some of our core principles.
·
Past Clinics I
have spoken at on this program:
Glazier, NIKE
coach of the Year Clinics, Wake Forest, Virginia, NC Football Coaches Clinic,
NC State, UNC, LSU, South Carolina Coaches Clinic, Tennessee, and hosted
several coaches at my school to implement the plan.

Serra suspension upheld

Incredible. The bylaw stated a one year suspension, Nancy changes it to two years and its still upheld? Get ready for a legal fight.

I feel awful for the Juniors and Seniors who had no voice in this matter. Completely strips them of possibly a great high school experience which is the playoffs (assuming Serra qualifies the next two years).

Nancy wins her personal vendetta with Coach Walsh. She can now retire with her insanely large ego in tact.

Some NCS teams are changing divisions in 2015

http://cifncs.org/sports/football/files/15FBDivisions.pdf

Just an Interesting note a few teams from the NCS are changing divisions due to enrollment decreases or increases in 2015.

1. Antioch goes from D1 to D2... With Harris and others they could be major contenders in the next two years!
2. Dublin goes from D2 to D1... Been a long time coming, they've never really been a player in D2, they'll continue mediocrity in EBAL and D1
3. College Park goes from D2 to D1 again... They always seem to be on the border, it wasn't more than a few years ago they beat Foothill and Amador Valley in the D1 playoffs in back to back years as underdogs.
4. Santa Rosa goes from D2 to D1... No surprise they were D1 2 years ago
5. Eureka petitions from D3 to D2... Sucks for any Bay Area team if they earn a home game in the playoffs!
6. San Lorenzo goes from D2 to D3... Last I hear they had less than 10 kids playing in soph class last year
7. Ukiah goes from D3 to D2... I think I'd rather be in D2 than D3 for football, either way not a contender
8. San Rafael goes from D4 to D3... They might be OK if all their talent didn't play at Marin Catholic
9. Piner goes from D4 to D3... Honestly I don't know much about their program...
10. Terra Linda goes from D4 to D3... See above
11. St. Helena does from D5 to D4... Good small town program, with 5 students separating them from D4-5 they should still compete.

PAL BAY Division

"With the win, Sequoia (6-3 in PAL Bay, 14-6 overall) moves into a three-way tie with SHP and Carlmont. The victory stands as the third dramatic comeback for the Cherokees this month. April 2 against Menlo, Sequoia trailed by six runs before rallying in the late innings for an 8-7 win. Last Thursday against Menlo-Atherton, the Cherokees again found themselves down by six but generated a 7-6 walk-off victory."

Rabb

Jaylen Brown goes to Wheeler High....same as Abdur-Rahim. SAR had never heard of Cal, until Kidd played there.

Rabb has a chance to create a legacy that Kidd started 22 years ago. If Brown climbs on board, that would be a major get that can have Cal as conference favorites and in the least get to the 2nd weekend.

Wow Marcus Lee, he definitely would have gotten minutes here, but at least with his game exposed in Kentucky, their winning, there's exposure, there isn't anything better than playing at an elite basketball factory. At the end of the day, either at Cal or Kentucky, he probably would be an NBA 15th man/DLeaguer for about 2 seasons followed by an overseas career. I can't see anything wrong with that. Do you pretty much get all the playing time you want and play for a mediocre Cal team, or gain the Kentucky hoop experience, that was pretty much what he was looking at.
