All set for the zillionth renewal of this storied rivalry…

Currently, the Cougs frosh are up 19-7 early in the first quarter.

Not much on MaxPreps about either of the Matadors’ frosh or JV, so that’s that, not much of a preview…

Cougs varsity is 9-4 while facing a tough slate, including close 2 losses to powerful Vanden and one to Modesto Christian and one to Salesian, basically a “who’s who” of NorCal hoops.

Mira’s varsity is 5-9, and I can’t find a signature win…. But it’s a rivalry game, anything can happen…

All Bay Area Team has also been revealed but the Mercury Snooze requires a subscription 😝

The Justin-Siena Varsity Boys team is looking for a single game as we had a last minute scratch in our tournament.

Saw on Newark Memorial's instagram that Darryl Lemas passed away. Was a great pitching coach and involved in coaching football as well. Coached Chris Flexen and Joey Lucchesi both of who are currently pitching in the bigs. Most people involved with baseball in the bay area crossed paths with Darryl at some point as he had coached since the early 80s. Condolences to his family and all involved with Newark Memorial baseball

I know it has been talked about a little on the boards but it has been beyond impressive how they have played since the departure of Jamari Phillips. Blasted Clovis West who will be an open team and blasted Liberty who just beat Harvard Westlake to win the Damien classic. I know they are talented and have a coaching staff that has won a lot of big games but I don’t think anyone seen this coming. Count me as one of the guys who thought the reign as best team in NorCal was over! Impressive!

The varisty Cougs are 8-4, and the varsity Broncos are 4-9…. Sounds like a mismatch on the surface, but the Broncs have also played a tough slate and have been competitive in almost all their games…. Can’t take these guys lightly.
