WCAL Top Track Marks ?

I don't remember a time when there was so little sports coverage of HS baseball in the local papers, let alone NO coverage of county or top bay area track marks [used to be posted weekly in SF Chron]. Now the best paper is the "San Mateo County Times" [aka "Bay Area News Group"] who also publishes the SJ Merc.

So anyone know how to check up on WCAL track & field to see who has the best current times/marks along with the other CCS best?

King of the Mat 2011

Coaches,

Hello, my name is Danny Crotts and I’m the Head Wrestling Coach at North Davidson Senior High School in Lexington, North Carolina. I am writing today to invite you and your team to our wrestling tournament, King of the Mat. This is a 32 man bracket, double elimination tournament, placing the top 8 in each weight class. This is a very good tournament. We are NFHS Sanctioned as well.

In 2010, we had teams from 7 different states, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma and North Carolina in attendance. KOTM place was a good indicator of State Tournament place as we had 28 State Champions (8 Weight Classes with Multiple State Champs), 13 Runner-Ups, 10 Third place’s, 5 Fourth places, 3 Fifth places and 3 Sixth places. I would love to increase our out of state teams in the event to having 10 states represented if at all possible. For teams, we had 20 Teams that were in the Top 10 at their State Meet with three of those being State champs, two being Runner-Ups, three being Third, two Fourths and two Fifth place finishers.

Individually last year we had 28 State Champions, as well as 13 State Runner-ups, 10 Third Place finishers, 5 Fourth Place finishers, 3 Fifth Place finishers and 3 Sixth Place finishers in the tournament. We strive to have the toughest tournament possible.

As you can see, the competition level is very high.

Zac Jarzynka Ironman Wrestling Tournament IX, Oviedo, FL, 28-29 Dec 2010

Zac Jarzynka Memorial Ironman Tournament IX
28-29 Dec 2010

The Zac Jarzynka Memorial Ironman Tournament, a nationally-recognized high school wrestling tournament held annually at Oviedo High School in Oviedo, Florida will take place this upcoming season on 28-29 Dec 2010. This is an individually bracketed tournament of 32 teams from across the United States.

This tourney, in its first eight years has included competing teams from OH, PA, OK, CA, MO, NY, TX, VA, TN, AL, SC, LA, GA and FL.

The Zac Jarzynka high school tournament has been recognized as one of the top tournaments in the nation by Amateur Wrestling News and by W.I.N. Magazine in years past. Additionally, in the first eight editions of this tourney nearly $40,000 in scholarship money has been awarded ? seniors from all teams competing are eligible to receive scholarships.

Oviedo, Florida is a suburb of Orlando, with the Disney and Universal Studios amusement parks located about 30 minutes away, with Florida ocean beaches just 45 minutes to the east. Oviedo is a quick, easy 30 mile highway drive from the Orlando International Airport (rated recently amongst all major airports as #1 for lowest airfares in the U.S., with many flights less than $200 roundtrip). The holiday period of this tournament offers a great place to wrestle top competition with no school days missed, while at the same time providing teams the opportunity to extend their stay to take in the great winter weather of Florida (average Orlando area temperatures in December are a high of 73, with a low of 51), the amusement parks, major college football bowl games, and the beaches.

You are invited to attend this year’s Zac Jarzynka IX. If interested in attending, please contact Tournament Coordinator/Oviedo Coach Tom Coffman via email or phone at:
