2 different Bay Area HS football games were halted prior to the 3rd quarter due to fighting among spectators this weekend.

Willow Glen at Piedmont Hills was stopped at halftime with PH up 10-0.

College Park at Fremont (Oakland) was called during the 2nd quarter with CP up 14-0.
TheOC89, were you at the game? Any intel on what took place?

Yes, I was at the CP vs Fremont of Oakland game…. The fights were all because a bunch of kids from other Oakland High Schools showed up at the game and were fighting with the Fremont of Oakland kids….

There were at least 10 fights in the stands on that side and it finally spilled out onto the field with kids fighting on the field so they took the teams off the field and called the game….

There were no fight between the teams playing or the fans, the Fremont coaches and admin were 1st class, it just became a safety issue…..

According to the e-mail message we all got from the Fremont principal, this was the only HSFB game in Oak on Friday night so it attracted a bunch of kids from rival high schools looking for trouble….

It was a surreal experience…. That is a nice venue for football and we all felt really bad for the Fremont players…. It was all very unfortunate….

A person can literally do whatever they want right now without any consequences. This is going to make high school sports tough to deal with, also why we see ref and coaching shortages.

A lot of schools require HS aged kids to show a valid school ID to enter a football game...must be issued from one of the two teams playing. Below HS kids must be accompanied by an adult. I assumed (looking like poorly) that such policies were commonplace. No?

santa rita is full, the court calendar is full. but high school kids fighting do not result in prison time. EVER.
