2024 Scores Thread

April 2: Oak Ridge (6-7) beat Whitney (7-5) 9-3

Oak Ridge opened up SFL play by beating league favorite Whitney with three runs in the third and four runs in the fourth. Luke Haney had two home runs and four RBI and Ryan Hubbard and Brady Rea each added home runs. Rea also started on the mound and gave up two runs with six strikeouts over five innings. Whitney's Bryce Farris and Jax Gimenez each had two hits.

April 3: Monte Vista beat Palo Alto 9-0

Monte Vista went 3-0 at the Gator Classic with wins over Sacred Heart Prep, James Logan and Palo Alto. The Mustangs have won six of eight games. Dylan Hillman had a home run and Tony Keeling had three RBI. Monte Vista used four pitcheers to combine on a one-hitter.

On Wednesday, Whitney evened the series with a 6-0 win. Jax Gimenez had a home run and two RBI and Brady Estes gave up one hit over six innings with seven strikeouts.

Also, Granite Bay beat Del Oro 4-1 and Rocklin beat Folsom 13-3 and will go for sweeps on Friday.

April 3: Franklin-Elk Grove beat Jesuit 3-2

Franklin scored three runs in the seventh capped off by a walk-off single by Jason Harris. Dylan Wood got the start for the Wildcats and tossed six innings of two run ball with six strikeouts. Jesuit's Javier Ramirez went 3-for-3 and Cade Colombara gave up three runs in six innings.

April 4: Granada beat Legend-Colorado 10-1

Granada stayed undefeated and moved to 2-0 at the Bishop Gorman Tournament with a win on Wednesday. Tyler Kardy had four RBI and three pitchers combined on a six hitters. Mason Ravera got the start and struck out five batters over four innings.

The Matadors will play St. Rita-Illinois today

De La Salle unloaded in the past two games. Might be getting ready for one of their runs.

Granada beat San Rmaon Valley 9-4 in the finals of the Bishop Gorman Tournament to improve to 16-0.

HA!…. Definitely!…. They just got some pretty good reinforcements too with Alec Blair coming back from injury and Campo Transfer Stanford commit Graham Schlicht now eligible to pitch after having to sit for transfer rules….

Blair has 9 Hits in 15 Plate Appearances since coming back…. NCS D1 looking like it will come down to DLS vs Granada…. It’s Baseball though and there are always some upsets…. 🤣
 
April 8: Whitney beat Granite Bay 5-2

Corden Pettey threw a complete game, four hitter with 10 strikeouts. Noah Warner went 3-for-4 with two RBI as Whitney outhit Granite Bay 13-4. For the Grizzlies, Jack Stannard gave up one run in four relief innings and Jace Bystrowski went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Mitty has won four in a row since a 0-5-1 spurt. Tanner Kern had two doubles and four RBI and Derek Allen got the final five outs for the save. Emmett Johnson had a home run and three RBI for the Wildcats. St. Ignatius scored four runs in the top of the fifth, but Mitty came back with four runs in the bottom half of the inning.

College Park Beat Campo 5-0…. Nate Leffel pitched a Complete game gave up 5 hits and had 6k’s…..

April 9: Sacred Heart beat Riordan 12-0. Irish JV's won 6-0. I just realized Riordan doesn't have a frosh team. (But they have a "field"... right?)
Varsity teams play again on April 12 at Riordan at 4pm.

April 13: Irish play at St. Mary's Berkeley at 1pm

Matthew Foley threw a complete game, five hitter and Aaron Solomon had a double and two RBI as the Dons gave Granada its first loss of the season. Granada got home runs from Riley Winchell and Mikey Boyd, but three errors leading to four unearned run proved to be too much to overcome.

College Park Beats Campo 4-0…. CP Has won 5 in a row….
Benicia Beats CVC 10-0…. Shocker there… Benicia is legit!….

All sweeps in the first round of League games…. Going to be a Crazy finish this year in this league!…. 🤣

Newmans Janicelli who is a UCSB committ is looking like a clear All Norcal player. 6-1 on season 0.77 ERA and just struck out 16 against a good Ukiah team.

Also, Whitney HS is playing Granite Bay well. Beat them in game 1 of series and lost in 9 innings in game 2. Final game of series is today.

April 12: Sacred Heart Cathedral 2, Riordan 1 (8 innings). Irish scored on a two-out, bases-loaded walk in the 8th.

Mitty beat SI, 7-5.
Serra beat Valley Christian, 9-0.

Franklin and Elk Grove have split their first two games.

Franklin won the opener 3-1 as Jaydn Ramos had three RBI. Nic Abraham struck out 11 in a CG

Elk Grove won game two 4-3. Ned Frutchery thew a complete game and went 2-for-3 with a RBI and run scored.

Casa has been raked by injuries this year. But to their credit Sikora and staff have been able to plug in a lot of dudes who have stepped up for them. Sign of good depth and development in the program.

This was a much closer game than the final score indicates. It was a scoreless battle in the 4th when DLS pushed across 3 runs after a botched rundown. The Spartans put up 7 runs in the final 2 innings. Good to see a healthy Blair playing. Schlicht looked solid.

That was a great rebound by CP after blowing a 3-0 lead in the bottom of 6 and losing 4-3 in 9 innings to Acalanes on Tuesday….

CVC Swept Northgate, Campo and Benicia Split…. It’s a wide open race for the league title, the only team out of it is Northgate right now…..

Diego Emerling gave up two hits and six walks with seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings.

College Park has a pretty solid resume. Wins over SRV, Monte Vista, split with Acalanes, Vacaville. Other losses include Granada, Cardinal Newman and St. Mary's Stockton

DLS already up 7-1 after 2 innings….. Since Spangler and Blair Came back from injuries their lineup is just ridiculous!…. 🤣

DLS making sure todays game was not close at all…. Scoring 3,4,2,2,1….. Up 12-2 in the Bottom of 6 with 2 runners on…. 🤣

I did make it to the DLS game... As mentioned above, it was never close... this despite SRV scoring first with a solo HR in the top of the 1st.

Could have been a lot worse, too. DLS left a ton of guys on the bases. Very impressive team!
