A football conundrum

The CDC has “waffled “ due to heavy pressure from the corona virus task force., which is not, I repeat, a branch of the space force, which IS, despite CIC genius, IS part of the Dept. of Air Force. LOL.

Anyone with a cerebellum knows that MANY respiratory contagions are spread by droplets (>5um) AND....who knew?!...aerosols (<5um.) As summer started winding down (as did many of the #’s, i.e. NYC) and Betsy DeVos was getting pressured by the privates and charters (her base- “we’re smaller in size; we can manage the spread best”) the idea of “vaccine miracle/less testing/kids have to be in school (fuggeddabout the teachers)” gained traction. Then (many) states HAD to tuck tail and “open up,” which INCLUDED HSFB. Then Woodward dropped the proverbial turd on the mouthpiece, as quoted above. Seriously, talk about self immolation. In a companion thread re Sac State opting out, what do they know/understand that others seem oblivious to? I heard on last nights town hall djt insinuate “masks don’t work; they actually can help spread it” I wasn’t shocked. That pattern is set in stone. But probably will get “tremendous ratings, like no one’s ever seen.”

It reminded me of Louie Gomert’s idiotic claim his mask caused his exposure.

Watch this video- published in....APRIL!

I’m still in the camp CIF has heavily weighed all options regarding starting in January. And I will still cover my 95 with a L3 surgical....

[2/24/20] Nancy Pelosi visited Chinatown in San Francisco, after reports that shops had seen a decrease in business because of coronavirus fears. The speaker assured everyone that 'everything is fine'

This situation should never have become a political issue. It's a natural disaster that's impacted the whole world. I feel hopeful that CA high school football will take place this winter/spring. We've been able to learn from those that are playing now. And pretty much everyone playing now has been impacted by the pandemic. No one is happy about where we are. No one wants to be here. But that doesn't change reality. Bring your head down from the clouds and face the facts. This is unprecedented and 100,000 + Americans have died from it so far.

I'm very grateful to be in a state that listens to scientists and does its best to protect lives. The lower the COVID numbers, the smaller risk of spread. Wear masks in public. Follow the guidelines. Be grateful for leaders who make tough choices to protect us all. Again, it's a huge bummer and no one is happy about this situation but that doesn't change where we are. I'm optimistic that norcal high school football will happen starting in January. Let's all do our part so that our kids can play.

Troubling spin. I’m not sure why this poster did not mention that the Speaker’s true reason for the visit was NOT to “get out and ignore” public health worries, at that early juncture.
She visited because there was a disconcerting rise in discrimination and racism toward Asian-Americans because the cic termed it “Chinese flu” and others “kung-flu.”

In New York, after the president had banned travel to China, both Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot were telling citizens in February and March that the virus was not as widespread as people thought.

On February 2, Barbot said, “There is no reason not to take the subway, not to take the bus, not to go out to your favorite restaurant, and certainly not to miss the parade next Sunday.” The parade took place on February 9. Barbot also intimated that President Trump’s travel restrictions were racist on Feb. 2

February 10- De Blasio says, “If you’re under 50 & you’re healthy, which is most NYers, there’s very little threat here. This disease, even if you were to get it, basically acts like a common cold or flu. And transmission is not that easy.”

I'm trying to figure out what relevance your post has to any of this. Are you trying to say that a politician in New York who either did not have the correct information or was downplaying what he knew is somehow connected to high school football in California eight months later?

Go back and read this entire thread and you’ll (hopefully) see the relevance. Either all these posts are relevant, or none of them are. This pandemic Is being treated like a political football by our politicians and posters here have “dug in” and have aligned themselves with their political team more so than their high school football teams. Plenty of blame to go around for representatives of both political parties related to this situation, but some posters here will only see what they want to see. High school football in CA itself is now a political topic.
