Oakdale has a guest from Colorado, Chaparral High. Oakdale will rush for over 500 yards. And will have 3 runners go for over 100 yards. I doubt Chaparral has ever played in a Stadium as hostile as The Corral. Now I know you get a lot of hyperbolic posts on here. But I have watched some highlights of Chaparral games. 47-0 is my prediction. Traveling all that way for high school kids will be tough.

I hear tons about The Corral but have never experienced it. What's the low down on it?
Small town football. Loud one game I got off work late. Going to town going down State highway 108 stopped at light outside of town about a mile away and you could hear the crowd. Imagine if you're a visiting team the noise you have to deal with.. Around here you have the blue Crew Downey high the black hole Modesto high. All students. In Oakdale you have Mustang madness and it's the whole crowd. With every Mustang first down the whole crowd reminds the other teams fans by yelling first down. Oakdale has The Stanpede our youth program with all the kids wearing their jerseys . It's tradition it's pride you don't want to let your parents, grandparents, Aunts uncles cousins down . Anyone that has attended any Oakdale game knows they won't have the best athletes on the field. But they will be coachable kids. They will be the toughest kids on the field. . Go to YouTube and check out OKG Oakdale Kind of Guy. You'll get it. Oh and never miss out on their Tri Tip sandwich. And top it off with their Mustang Kicking sauce. And if your kids team make a good play believe it or not the crowd will cheer your kid. We love good football. One home game my Pastor's son playing for Ceres high when they found out it was my Pastor's son they even cheered him. Of course the score was already like 42-0. And they are having down year but another Stadium to visit is Dunlavy Field in Sonora. Our oldest rivalries but always much respect. Small town football you just can't beat it. If you want to visit let me know. I will escort through the madness. Through high school football I have made some good friends. Like champ here on this board. And friends from DelOro .

Is Chaparral a highly ranked team from Colorado
I watched one of their games they are not on the level of California teams. averaging about 180 total yards a game on offense. They will not be able to stop Oakdale's wing-t offense. I could be wrong, but I'm not! Oakdale their trap plays. Then will run jet and pick 30 or 40 yards. I have seen it for years. Oakdale just wears teams down. Oakdale will double or triple them on Offense. This isn't hyperbole this is just Oakdale playing at home in The Corral. We will see. The game will be on NFHS check it out !

@ncscalfootball sounds like that’s the perfect example on how to run a Wing T offense which has won a State Championship! I wish one day Vacaville could run it like that and win something special.

Vaca beat Folsom when nobody was beating Folsom and they did it with the Wing-T. They put up a ton of yards every year. Vaca does a great job with their Offense, they have done so for the last 15 years at least. They have had one most highly regarded staffs in our section from all of the top programs and Head Coaches around.

Be careful what you wish for, Napa used to be great, Nevada Union used to be great and many thought they would never see the day where those programs struggled.

Im not sure why the Vaca coaches or offense gets crushed on here. If they scrapped their offense and looked really bad in the Spread would that make fans more happy?

I am not attacking you guys but man, Im telling you those Vaca coaches do a great job every year.

mistark, you hit it. When they were winning, you could hear the respective coaches from the other sidelines as well complimenting them and them saying Vaca uses an Uptempo Wing T. Liked the part of you mentioning for the last 15 years. I just think Vacaville is "Rebuilding" not like how they used to Reload every year. Missed my days when I was a youth all the way to high school watching them Vacaville Bulldogs live. Back then Vacaville had a smaller population and Wood was a Jr. High. Got all excited when you hear Rancho Cordova , Vallejo, Vintage and Napa were coming to town.

I hope so. Every team on Oakdales schedule has a negative calpreps rating outside of Mitty and CC.

I watched it and it was pretty neat. I'm not a big central valley person as I'm from San Francisco. My ex-girlfriend was attending UC Merced when I first met her and all I can remember is driving through onion fields and past storage tanks lol. Plus here in San Francisco Oakdale usually means one of the most notorious housing projects in the city.

But the football fan and coach in me respects it. Something I used to see out in the central valley that I don't see here anymore is exactly what they talked about which is grit. My father worked construction and thus I saw him get up for his 6am shift. My mother would wake up at with him and have his food ready before he left the house. But in this city most people now a days work 9-5 and complain about it. It's lazy. People seem to wish for good fortunes more than opportunity and that's not what champions do. I'll have to check out a game sometime.

I'm an Oakdale fan and this year is going to be a down year for them. Hit by graduation losses makes for a long season. Oakdale hasn't' really played anyone yet, except for Mitty and they got out played on every level. I don't see them going to a Champiknship this season, but look out next season and the season after. Oakdale will be back.

Oakdale will be back. Public schools tend to go up and down in cycles. They will be back and probably contending for a title next year.

Go Oakdale!

Other tha Central they don't have anyone else that looks that tough. Manteca is also down this year. The way things look to be shaping up Oakdale will be playing D4 this year. Placer and Capital Christian will be in D3. That leaves just Merced the toughest team in D4. A down year for Oakdale is still tough in their division. Hey if you're still up in Auburn you should meet up with my Placer buddy . Just look for a guy that looks like Treebeard from Lord of the Rings. That would be him.

i heard something about that. Remind me why they would play in D4, again.

They take top 78 teams ranked by Calpreps for 7 divisions
Once they have the top 78, they gp to enrollment. There has to be 36 larger enrollments that qualify in order for Oakdlae to go D4. Very, very far shot but technically than can be D4, I think there is about 40 (dont quote me on it) schools with larger enrollment than them. And that assuming they dont win VOL. If Placer does not win their league they will be D4, so lots of things have to happen for Oakdale to be D4.

Oh that’s funny stuff there......Treebeard........ahhhhhhh haha lol.Go Placer

Mistark, can you imagine Placer in D4 this yr?.........Oh baby watch out if that happens, but it’s a new league D3 FVL(Foothill Valley League) and there is a 3-0 Ponderosa a 2-1 Lincoln,Nevada Union,Oakmont,Rio Linda...Pondo and Lincoln will be threats to Placer this yr.......Lincoln for sure.Go Placer PS but I see Placer winning league this yr,thus will play D3 imho.Again Go Placer. I’m also following Indy.....always do(wink).

It is true that public schools go thru their cycle of talent and Placer is there this yr with many returners from last yrs State Bowl, played with soph’s and jr’s.....and now jr’s and sr’s and their having fun out there.But....next yr I can see Placer working hard again to compete strongly in league to again hit that stride with tremendous talent.Oakdale is going thru that this yr........they will be bk again, count on it.

Okay my bold prediction was way off Oakdale 28 Chap 20 and only two 100 yard rusher. Way to many long runs called back. No pursuit on their QB.

Enrollment Oakdale's enrollment has been down the last couple of years. Check Calpreps has Oakdale in D4 They were D4 by enrollment last year also. But they won VOL the same the year before. But they tied for VOL Championship.. The year they went to State Christian Brother and Oakdale were the two smallest teams in that division. Fact check me!

Placer has less kids than Oakdale does. There has to be more to it than just enrollment.

Once again league champ plays in higher division Placer is in a D3-4 league. If they win they play D3 VOL is D3-4 league Manteca right now has higher enrollment than Oakdale. The last Two years Oakdale has enrollment wise a D4. But they won league last year thus D3. Manteca was by enrollment a D3 team last year. Bottom line is league champions play higher division. The it goes to split in division of enrollment. The take the top records teams. I think they changed the number of teams in playoffs. With top teams in each get bye first round. It all really comes down to the enrollment of the playoffs teams. What I have been trying to convey is the splits in each division had Oakdale's enrollment in D4 split. Damn I getting a head ache trying explain this. Okay let's go back to league championship Oakdale tied or won last two VOL. Back to D3. Now a lot of things do effect how the plots go. But the the league championship set you into your division. I'm not well versed in what league are what up in Sac with realignment this year. Down our way VOL and WAC are both D3-4 leagues. We still have months for everything is clear! But this I am almost certain of Placer will win their league. They will be in D3. Oakdale is not going to beat Central this year. So they will not be league champions. Their spot in playoffs will got to teams qualified and enrollment . I still telling you Merced is the dark horse in this whole thing. They are on an upswing now. They were at one time one of the big dogs of Sac-Joaquin section. They had all those Slatens and drawing a blank on all those track star RB's. I'm done good night all.

Ok now I am really confused,so let me get this straight a school with a higher enrollment gets you a lower div in playoffs if you win higher div leagues vs really good teams when they rush for huge gains on certain calls from assistant coaches in the press box....correct?And lower enrollment in P.E gets you less kids on the fball field thus less talent to participate in a higher div vs weaker teams that don’t have consistant100 yd rushers in games vs rival teams, let alone a single 100 yd rusher, whereas in this case Placer has a plethora of 100 yd rushers because this is a cycle topping yr with talent for the Hillmen before graduation takes its toll on my boys.....now is my understanding correct.......my friend? If not could you please explain again............aaaaaaahaha rlmao.....
who loves you Rock(wink).......Go Placer

Damn my head still aches! I saw last years team . Placer will be fine in any Sac- Joaquin division other than D1. Central will be in D2 and and I feel Placer is ever bit as talented as them. In complete candor line play by Oakdale is what usually makes them go. That's Oakdale kryptonite this year. On both sides of the ball. Little brothers of just graduated D1 recruits from Oakdale are killing it on JV. This team this year is much like the one team that didn't make finals. Under sized but gritty. But again the team to worry about down our way is Merced. Next to Central in my opinion is the best overall team. But that's just this man's opinion. Here out of the closet I'm a big Hillmen fan. I think Joey Montoya is one of our best young coaches in our section. Given the talent he has this year they are a state bowl contender.

J Roland, Stephan Jackson, Anthony Volson ?were some stud RB for Merced.
