Just noticed that Campo was the only DAL boys' team to lose tonight... And that was to another DAL team. DAL having a down year? Not really... No super-top team or teams, but a whole bunch of good ones. The top 6 or so teams were always in tough battles when any two of them met. Was an extremely entertaining season.
One other DAL team plays tomorrow, Las Lomas. The Knights play in D2 against Newark Memorial, who appears to have risen from the ashes; they are the first Newark-Memorial team to be better than .500 since Coach Ashmore retired. Just spotted that Benicia is in D2, also.
"Adopt a team"? Heh, not even for just the rest of this year's playoffs.
However, there are a few I like to watch... In no particular order, DLS, SRV, DV, Salesian, even Dublin... I guess I like just about everyone in Open...
Going down to lower brackets, I'm interested in College Park because of super-frosh Miles Cooper... Would be fun to have them make a run. Like St. Joe's, too. Those two could meet next Tuesday if the cards fall right, though I think they'd need to pull upsets to get there.
My mom's alma mater, El Cerrito, is in D4, seeded #3.
Oh, hey look... Another DAL team, Alhambra, is in D5, and they ripped up Quarry Lane tonight.
Here's a wild card... Ontario Christian girls (gasp, SoCal!!). "Special K" Kaleena Smith is off-the-charts fun to watch... Amazing passer with unreal court vision, scary defender, great shooter.
To reiterate, though... lots of teams to watch, but Campo is my team always.
