Casa Grande (15-3) beat Petaluma (14-2) 4-1 in the first of a two game series this week. The second game will be later today.

The Gauchos got good pitching performances from senior Brady Laubscher (5IP, 4H, 1R, 4BB, 3K) and senior Danny Mercado (2IP, 2BB, 3K). At the plate, Laubscher went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and senior Gavin Lee added two RBI.

Petaluma sophomore Dalton Deadman went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Senior James Dole got the start went went five innings and gave up five hits and four runs. The Trojans came in on a five game winning streak.

Casa doesn’t have a super explosive offense in my opinion, but they do adapt and play good small ball. Pitching is pretty good and will keep them in most games. I think they’ll have a pretty good run in NCS this year.
