CCS Open: Pinewood vs Mitty

Okay, fixing the thread title.

Mitty up 37-27 at the half. A 25-5 blitz by the Monarchs in the second quarter. Anita McNicholas with 11 points, Haley Jones 10 and 9 rebounds. Hannah Jump with 12 for Pinewood.

Mitty doing their halftime strategizing on the floor. Don't know if that's normal. Really wish I had my computer so I didn't have to type this on my iPad.

Also Klara Astrom has 3 fouls. That didn't help Pinewood.

Mitty 56, Pinewood 39 after three. Mitty is just too strong.

Final score: Mitty 76, Pinewood 62. Pinewood got the lead down to 10 in the fourth quarter, but that was it. For Mitty, Jones 20 points and 14 rebounds, McNicholas with 21. Jump led Pinewood with 20.

Nice to see Mitty win after the injury to Blakes. No telling what the score would have been with her playing.

I tried telling ya'll Mitty was going to win. Pinewood no bench or didn't use some of the kids they had been playing previously. Mitty too many high percentage shots. No one besides Jump could score consistently after the 1st quarter which I said if they had a good start it might be interesting. Pinewood couldn't have started better than they did.
Mitty actually should have won by more, they missed about 6 or 7 putbacks or point blank shots. Pinewood had no legs by the 4th quarter, only stayed close with some bad fouls by Mitty. SMS is the only team that has a shot and that is because of Aquira helping to nullify the rebounding of Jones and Ortiz.

The loss of Blakes doesn’t affect Mitty against a team like Pinewood. But against a team like SMS with Aquira’s ability to dominate the offensive glass with put backs, it could definitely play a big role.

Good point ! Basketball out comes are strongly effected by "Match ups" and "Timing."

After such a good player and team mate goes down for Mitty late in her senior season, you can't help but be happy that the team has rallied together to work toward accomplishing what they have their sights on. Congratulations to Mitty !
