This is what the general consensus has been for the past month. Next news item regarding to this will be which players opt to head to college early and forgo the season altogether.

If colleges get bumped to January what would the benefit be? Colleges would be playing the same time. It’s not like the kid that is the early enrollee is gonna do much with the program while they are in the middle of their season. You think Nick Saban is going to be thinking about a 18 year old early enrollee who can’t help him win while he’s trying to game plan for the next week against Georgia. Kid might as well play his senior HS season then. If CFB goes to January, spring ball would have to be pushed back towards summer anyway.

And, on top of all of this, there is the nasty question hanging out there: Will January/February be any better virus-wise than July/August? One can only hope.

Also have the question about whether individual school districts will be saying "no football or contact sports" even if the section they are in opts to go ahead in December/January/February/ March or April.

I think they are basing this plan on the "Hope" part. If there are effective treatments or a readily available vaccine, then this plan works. If not, then no plan can work. It's good to be prepared for the best as well as for the worst.

number 1 recruit in the state Korey Foreman of Centennial will also enroll early

I saw that. Surprised, but still at reality no one will even be playing January (CFB/HS) so it might not make a difference in the end.

I think it’s fear of injuries so close to starting their college careers

I get that, but that will mean many of these kids will go 2 years with no games played if the season is a go this year (HS and CFB) that could set them back and they could be very rusty and increase injury chances as well. I know the 10 speed brigade often does it before going to BYU, but they almost always red shirt the first year back after their missions

It's important to note that BYU has already lost 5 of its 12 games this season due to cancelations.

More Dame has lost that many of not more this season as well including their big opener in Ireland this August I believe

Fortunately for the papal power, it's a quasi-member of the ACC in football. Maybe it can fill a date or two from that pool.

It will be interesting to see how the cancellation fees play out for the Pac12 and Big10. It's going to be hard to argue that Force Majeur applies to everybody outside of your conference only as you look to add games.

As a HS football fan it saddens me but I can't come up with any logical reason why any kid with an offer would play this year.
So I leave an open question to the collective wisdom of the board: Why would any high school player with an offer play this year?

because larry legend would be crushed if he didnt get to see them play.
