Class of 2025 Offers

Sam Connelly, DL Marin Catholic, has committed to Yale. Lots of other offers at the FCS level and FBS from Air Force and Army. But how do you say no to Yale!

I'm pretty sure most of it has to do with Chip Kelly being the Buckeyes OC now. His long track record recruiting the entire West Coast (specifically NorCal) and connections out here is something tOSU hasn't really had in a while. Not to the degree Chip brings it, anyway.

I strongly suspect they'll be much more active in NorCal for the foreseeable future, not only because of Chip, but also because 4 of their future conference opponents (USC, UCLA, Oregon, UW) recruit this area pretty hard.
This is a good take. Also should be noted that Texas has a HC with strong West Coast ties and Alabama's new head coach just came from Washington.

A big recruiting trend to watch is will the West Coast schools be able to keep elite players more playing in the Big 10/SEC/Big 12 or will we will a continued drain from these programs as the traditional powers get more West Coast ties.

Hearing whispers Edwards from OR will be committing to Alabama soon. Makes sense given the Wash staff was high on him and he's the last top 10 TE prospect in class of 2025 who hasn't committed yet.

You do if the family is not flush with cash.

^^ That’s certainly one reason. There are many, many more.

Why some folks act as if Ivy league schools are the end all, be all escapes me. Especially so in today’s climate of both HS and higher education. Were people not paying attention to what happened at Harvard not all that long ago which eventually led to the departure of its awful president?

Aside from Ivy leagues being FCS level, I see plenty of reasons for athletes to say “no” to Yale and other Ivy league institutions. Same goes for non-athletes. The culture may not be good fit, among many other things. Prestige and impressing others means dick.

Totally agree. These schools have all gotten watered down also by the woke movement. A Harvard degree 20 + years ago isn't the same as one today. Imagine paying that sort of money and cancelling graduation? These places are political monsters and all for the wrong reasons.

San Ramon Valley's Marco Jones has committed to Texas A&M. He will look to play football and baseball there
This is awesome!!… Have heard all along that he wanted to play Both sports in College so good for him!….

I also hope this dispels the unconfirmed rumor that has been floating around that he was going to Transfer to Mater Dei for his senior year…. With all the offers he had, it never made any sense to me…. 🤣

Yeah wouldn't make any sense to me but maybe the mystic of a state/national title?

I think Chris Lawson's best future is at WR, but he is pretty intriguing as a defensive back too.

Washington has done a nice job in NorCal for this class

Every time Lawson was put on the opponent’s WR1, he locked him down. He just has a knack for making plays either at WR, DB or on special teams.

The big DT from Folsom flipped to Texas. (Sharma) He was previously committed to Oregon.
Texas is flush with NIL. Gotta think that didn't hurt.

Oregon is pretty flush with money too. Nice pull for Texas to flip a West Coast player from Oregon

Vanden 2025 OL Tru Kendrick has been offered by Eastern Washington and Idaho
Awesome young man, his dad played at USC. Bloodlines are good & has a younger brother who is really talented DL. Tall frame, will continue to fill out. Great feet and will be true (no pun intended) LT at collegiate level. One to watch through his senior year.

Jesse Myers DE from Newman starting to compile a nice listing of offers.
Oregon State, Wash State, Army, Fresno State.
Saw this young man at the Cal prospect camp in June. He’s legit. Good size, incredible motor, quickness off ball and hand usage. He is a good pickup for Oregon State.

Newmans Jesse Myers keeps adding on offers.
UC Davis and Air Force offered last week. Personally, I think a UCD type would be a great fit for him.

Also Theo Gruele from Folsom got offered by Portland State. Great motor on this kid and somebody else who will do well at this level.
Myers is for sure an FBS player. Nothing wrong with FCS but he will be an early contributor to FBS program at DE or could see him as a dynamic player at 3-4 OLB. He’s probably 6’2” max so OLB could be great fit for his skill set in 3-4.

He committed to Oregon State. He will do well there. Great motor like you said.

Missed this last week but Pittsburg DE Juju Walls has committed to UCLA in joining teammate Jadyn Hudson

Looks like I missed a couple of Serra commitments this summer — not sure if they’ve been mentioned. S Teddy Chung committed to Harvard and CB Jermaine Barrett committed to Air Force.
