24-25 schedules are beginning to be posted now on Maxpreps. Joe has been posting that he has been retained by DLS and is working on their nonleague games.

That Dude is a proven Liar…. He is the same Con Man that promoted Bishop Sycamore and the other fake school USA Academy….. I wouldn’t believe anything he says….

DLS doesn’t need a proven Liar and con man like him to set up games…. There are pleanty of teams that want to play DLS….

DLS will be Playing Serra, Grant, ST Mary’s, ST Francis, and I think it was El Cerrito…. They are still putting together the NFL academy game…. That game is happening…. MJD is the one who set it up…. Lots of logistics to work out….

The DLS / Folsom game was losing ground as far as a marquee match up. I feel no loss. That being said, I still feel both teams are at least top 10 in CA. They will meet in playoffs anyways if they both perform well.

Agree!…. Both sides wanted a break….

The only Bummer is now we don’t have the top teams playing for the Open anymore and no play in game…. So If Both Folsom and DLS go undefeated who goes to the open?…..

So Cal’s structure is just fine, LA and SD teams don’t want to play in the Open…. We need the open play in for Nor Cal to at least crown a true Nor Cal Champion….

I agree that Nor Cal is too thin at top but there is also a lot of parity at the top of Nor Cal so you can’t just pick someone…. This system was set up when no one thought they could beat DLS…. That is not the case anymore so it’s time for a change….

Personally I would rather watch a great matchup for a Nor Cal Open Title then watch the boring, uncompetitive, SBG at the Open level….

It will be a major disappointment if Folsom isn't the north rep for the open this year. On paper they return an absolutely loaded roster which includes the top QB prospect in the class of 2026. Wonder if patsy will come back under a different alias?

Yeah, there was a lot of talk about SoCal doing the only battle for Open and NorCal doing away with the Open bid. This is a very short sighted solution. We have so many examples of adjusting playoff or Bowl criteria system over the years in order to justify certain teams to have their shot at sectional, regional or state titles only to have it overturned later because the system no longer fits reality. The attitude of you should win because you are very good but not the best so we will fix the system so you can win is very biased. It only lives for the current year but not for the long haul.

Of course it would be more fun to watch a competitive NorCal top teams game than to watch a paint-dry-type game as the last few years of NorCal / SoCal Open games. But that's not a standard reality for multiple years. I want the winner of Open (or any other division) winner to mean the same in 2010 (DLS 48 Servite 8) as in 2022 (MD 44 Serra 7).

CalPreps' Ned Freeman offers an interesting solution using a parity system that matches teams according to their parity level combined with proximity. In these case, you could have a fluid playoff system regionally. The Northern California teams (and maybe southern Oregon) could have their championship game, Central California (and maybe Northern Nevada) could have their championship game and Southern California (and maybe Southern Nevada) could have their championship game.

Personally, I would prefer a true playoff system in California that pairs divisional teams according a standard criteria that is applied evenly and equally to all schools in all sections. That way you will know how your selected team performed over the years. A team in 2010 would win by similar competitive standards as a 2022 team.

But that's just my personal thinking and maybe not widely shared..

CIF already has way too many playoff divisions (bowl games). With 17,000 bowl games, they could easily make a system of state playoff brackets. IMO, the whole thing currently is moot. Even college football has a playoff of some sort. The BCS system, that the CIF currently has, doesn't work.

What I had heard was DLS would be playing an ESPN game, Grant, Serra, ST Mary’s and SF plus 4 EBAL games….

So that left them 1 open date and they were trying to schedule Folsom for that date…. It is tough though because both the WCAL and SFL are big leagues so if you are trying to play teams from those leagues your dates are limited….

Folsom also has 1 opening left on their schedule but it’ll probably be a lower level Central valley squad.

Mission is gonna drop off a lot this season. They don’t return a lot of players but it’ll still be a very competitive game for the bulldogs hope they can pull it off honestly.

I don’t see how Folsom doesn’t win this game, MV will drop off big time from last year…..

MV will lose at least 2 games (RSM and Folsom), their schedule will be pretty light like it was last year…. The question is will they drop a league game to either San Clemente or Edison….. There is a real chance that MV could be back in D2 this year….

If MV ends with with 3 or 4 losses that will hurt Folsom’s Chances at The Open if DLS is undefeated with a National Level win….

I love those dls- Folsom games dls pummeled them the first 5 times

But the last 4 was competitive they went 2-2

Folsom won 28-27 in 2021 and 24-20 on last second plays. De la salle won the last 2 17-14 in 2022 playoffs 14-7 in 2023


A big reason Folsom won those first 2 games was because of the great wr they had Rico Flores.

De la salle couldn't guard him he had 150 yards in one game and like 75 yards in the other game. He had so many timely clutch catches to move the sticks.


I hope they bring it back they have been the two of the 3 top nor cal high school the last decade.

That's too bad. Until the NorCal Open play in game returns, imo, Folsom and DLS should have to play each other no matter what. I know the match-up has lost a lot of momentum and intrigue over the past few years but I personally would like to see them play the game in order to avoid a debate, in the event both team are undefeated.

There are a total of 5 listed with 5 remaining- 2 of which would be Rocklin and Del Oro. They are also playing Grant as well as Mission Viejo correct? That leaves 1 more non league game. What’s really sad about Folsom is that whole Mater Dei Hoax they put on last year like they really wanted to play them…. If they did, they would have scheduled them for this year after they were in contact with them last year….

The way Folsom puffed out their chest and bragged about contacting MD when they really had no intention to play them was a joke…. Then they agreed to play Cen10, Ghosted Cen10 when they sent over the contract and instead scheduled a down Mission Viejo team that lost its best players….

But it is what it is…. Folsom has this Great Team with a Top QB prospect in the Country, supposedly 20 D1 players, yet , No DLS, No MD, No SJB, No Cen10 on the Schedule…. Instead they have a down Serra team, Down Mission Viejo team and they are going to Hang 70 on SHC….

This is what makes Folsom such a hard team to root for…. They do nothing to elevate Nor Cal Football other then prove that they can barley scrape by teams from San Diego…. 🤣

It's a common theme with Folsom. Build up a bunch of fake power 5 offers and the majority sign with Sac State or Reno. Most of their bogus Mississipi offers are to land Ryder Lyons as a result. Jamison Powell is a great HS Football player but not anywhere close to an SEC guy. Carter Jackson/Hill getting a Mississippi offer are laughable, really sad. As a result you get this bogus idea that Folsom should be playing top tier teams but the reality is they would lose by 40-50. They are strategic about playing teams in down years like MV this upcoming year. There used to be a day when you would coach up your own. nowadays, schools like Folsom recruit 5th and 6th graders through passing academies etc. I know this from personal experience with a 5th grader's parents. It can't be tough to win with 15 transfers annually that have already coached up. Ryder Lyons and the rest of the team were exposed in the PITT game. The speed was overwhelming for them. I wish Ryder lyons a successful career, but there is no way he's going to be a runner in college after watching Pitt consume him. I once cheered for Folsom with the old regime, but it's not even HS Football anymore. Go play an independent schedule when you poach players from every school. For the rest of us, let's continue to teach young men values and max out the potential of what we have from youth up. That's much more rewarding.

This is really too bad. I would have loved to have seen them challenge themselves with what could be one of their best teams ever. At least take on 1 elite team. Would not have to be MD, but maybe a CEN10 or SJB.
