De La Salle beat Roosevelt (4-0) and Palm Desert (4-1). The Spartans have given up six runs in seven games this year.

They play Mountain Ridge-Arizona today.

Quite a solid year for De La Salle athletics, ie., Football state champions, Basketball state runner ups and now Baseball team undefeated thus far.

I'd love to see a state baseball system created. I don't think it'd be any more difficult to setup than a Basketball one.

Start 2 weeks early problem solved. Most high school teams were ready to play weeks before their first scheduled game but had to anxiously wait thus a few schools also had 4 practice games under their belt to kill time.

You do realize that would put league games starting in February right?

Mtn Ridge beat dLS, which now plays Esperanza for third place. dLS is one of those privates with proportionally higher sport specialization students compared to the bigger NCS publics. Schools up and down the 680 routinely ask their better athletes to come out for a second sport to increase competitiveness. Obviously, NCS is not going to tinker with Spring schedules at their expense. Nice try though.
