Granite Bay (5-1-1) suffered its first loss of the year to Del Oro (4-4) in the opener of its three game series by the score of 3-2.
Senior Chase Thatcher had two hits with a RBI double in the fifth to plate the eventually winning run. Senior Noah Kravitz also had a double for the Golden Eagles.
Junior Cody Oldwin threw five innings of two run ball (one earned) and gave up four hits. He was opposite Granite Bay senior ace Darren Nelson (Cal Poly), who went five inning and gave up six hits and three runs with three strikeouts.
Del Oro junior Blake Rainey got the final five outs to preserve the win.
