DLS vs Heritage???

I predicted Heritage and their questionable shot selection wouldn't be able to score on the tight Spartan defense. The first time they've been held below 50 all year.

22, you were 100% correct!! Poor shot selection, no definition of roles and totally out disciplined. Time to rethink the flex offense, too easy to defend!!

BRENTWOOD, CA - De La Salle outscored Heritage 15-9 in the fourth quarter, led by big shots from seniors Connor O'Dea and Emeka Udenvi, and great defense from senior Colby Orr, to help lead the Spartans to a 54-43 playoff victory over Heritage.

"Heritage is a very athletic and well coached team," said De La Salle head coach Justin Argenal. "We were just able to hit timely shots throughout the whole game."

It was a back-and-forth first quarter as Heritage (25-4) started strong early. Junior Jonathan Ned scored Heritage's first five points but De La Salle would respond, led by two three-pointers from Orr, as the game would be tied 10-10 heading into the second quarter.

Heritage's full court press gave De La Salle (26-5) problems in the second quarter, forcing six turnovers in the quarter, three of those on steals by senior Tyrese Mack, as Heritage would take a 25-24 lead entering halftime.

De la Salle would respond in the third quarter, however, as Udenvi scored six points in the quarter and had two blocks, to help give De La Salle a 39-34 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

De La Salle will move on to the NCS Division 1 championship game on 8 pm Friday, at St. Mary's College against number-one seed Dublin, who beat De La Salle in their last meeting, 64-60.

Heritage's season is not over, as they will now wait for Sunday to see who they play for the state playoffs.
