Dublin Showcase

31-20 Dublin at the half.

Destiny is sorta frenetic, or sped up. They’ve missed a lot of layup and/or close-in shots.

Destiny scored the first 5 points of the 3rd, but Dublin came right back with 5. 36-26 Dublin, 6:11 left 3rd.

Destiny is on a roll now…. #24, who had been having a bad game, kicked into gear…. 37 all.

Anderson with a terrific putback dunk…. 40-39 Dublin.

TREMENDOUS Wilsonburger served up by Destiny’s #15…. but Dublin got it back and scored. FT good, 43-41 Dublin. End of 3rd.

Nice pass, Anthony Knight to Anderson for a layup. 49-45 Dublin…. Destiny scores, missed who…. 49-47.

Turns out the name of #24 is correct in the program, Jaylen Valdez.. It’s just wrong on his class; he’s not a freshman. Anyway, he keeps making plays!

Anderson of Dublin scores, fouled…. FT to tie it up.. Good. 52 all. 2:50 left.

Anderson with a huge putback layin, Dublin takes a 56-54 lead, time out Destiny with 49.7 left.

Valdez goes baseline, fouled on the shot…. First FT, not close.. 2nd good. 56-55. Dublin trying to run the clock out, just about loses it, time out. 15.7 left. Dublin ball and lead, no need to look for a shot, just don’t turn it over….

Dublin pass to Anderson heading into the basket, he goes ahead and lays it…. OUT!

Destiny gets downcourt, Dublin steals… FOUL, 1 of 2 go in, Destiny zooms downcourt, their shot blocked.. Dublin gets it and hangs on! 57-55.

Next up: Redondo Union v. Folsom.

Redondo is 3-0 now, and handled O’Dowd pretty easily, and Folsom is 1-0 after beating Grant a few days ago, 71-59.

13-12 Folsom, 4:01 left 1st. Redondo is way faster, but Folsom is playing them tough…. so far.

Redondo can’t quite deliver the knockout punch, and Folsom keeps haning around. 40-35 Redondo, 1:45 left in the half.

Folsom has managed to keep Redondo from running off, but they can’t seem to gain any ground either. 64-53 Redondo after 3 quarters.

Now we have De La Salle vs. Crespi.

Crespi has already rolled to a 5-1 record, while DLS has no official games, only the sportsmanship game over O’Dowd.

Of course, DLS is led by Oklahoma-bound Eric Blair…. A pretty darned amazing athlete.

Crespi’s top player according to MaxPreps stats is #5, Peyton White, a 6’6” senior wing that’s putting up some 18 ppg.

9-5 DLS early on…. The aformentioned Peyton White has supplied an impressive dunk for Crespi…. Dud reached out, not up, to flick it down two-handed.

Holy mackerel…. Blair with a long pass right on the money for 2, a steal that almost leads to a buzzer beater score…. 24-13 DLS after 1,

Crespi ain’t done yet…. They’ve made a bit of a run to make it 47-38 DLS. 2:40 left in the 3rd.
