...with their uninspiring outcome today? With the openings at Santa Clara and USF today is Johnny D next? Its been a mediocre tenure for him even with the Sweet 16 run. Granted only a certain type of player can even qualify there, but Montgomery won there and David Shaw is kicking everyone's a$$ in football. Agreed in hoops its a tough place to win consistently though.

I think he has built up a little goodwill after being on the hot seat a couple years ago... this year was essentially killed by injuries... they should be really solid next year if everyone is healthy...

Totally agree! Pre sweet 16 I think maybe a little in jeopardy. Injuries hurt big time. They were talking on the radio this morning and said same thing. I think they have a couple guys coming in and getting healthy they should be competitive next year. Always been a big Stanford fan for all sports. All the way back to the Tom Davis years. First college game there. And I thought I was good enough to play there when younger...LAUGHER... Not to mention 3.0 doesn't cut it there...

Wow.. really thought they'd give him the benefit of the doubt.. but now, talk about a big time job opening... we can all stop talking about USF and SCU being available now lol... Excited to see who they hire

Geez... About 2M worth of salaries available in the bay area now. 1M + for Stanford and 400k or so for USF/SCU. Good time to be a coach. Oh Trent Johnson got shit canned from TCU. Maybe he can come back..... Maybe not.

No reason Stanford can't be a top shelf program. Everything is in place. Lots of national championships in other sports. Commitment to excellence. More money than god has (except Sundays) Lots of intelligence evident on the basketball courts around the Bay Area and elsewhere.

Stanford is most likely looking at in no particular order:

- Russell Turner
- Jamie Dixon
- Tommy Amaker
- Randy Bennett
- Jarron Collins
- Mark Madsen
- Will Wade

Amaker would be a logical choice and Randy Bennet would not surprise me either

I'm not sure Amaker gets a long look here. He is from the same Duke background as Dawkins.
