Just wanted to share here with you all in case you haven't heard. My sources on the trinity league forums are saying it's either MD or now public school Los Al. Eitherway I'm excited to see him play live now in the Southern Section. I guess he didn't get into Bosco unfortunately. Los Al recruiting hard this year with the Stars/ Coach Frogg connection. Top 2024 recruit from Georgia transfering into Los Al. Gonna be some good football down here.

Just my 2 cents.

No Serra?

Kid had to go all the way to SoCal to have his needs met?

LA is much better than san mateo
Mater Dei is located in Santa Ana in Orange County. Please provide us with all of the reasons Santa Ana is "much better than San Mateo." We await your analysis with interest and anticipation.

i know exactly where mater dei is. now santa ana is basically hayward of so cal. but he still is a freeway toss away from LA. now it will take you 90 minutes to get there but still it is still. unless they was talkin about gardena-serra. which is also an upgrade too. also have you seen the throughbreds walkin around OC? boy gonna be in heaven.

I don't know....Serra San Mateo has 3 Hall of Famers from the school - Lynn Swan, Barry Bonds and to be Tom Brady. Two among the GOAT in their sports.

Well awright there Professor J Kelp.....

Based on that geography lesson then Castro Valley should be Nor Cal's Anaheim and the Golden Tee Mini Golf Course on C-V Blvd our Disneyland ??

Is he immediately eligible? I recall in basketball if a player transfers to a CIF school for solely an athletic reason, they usually sit out more than a month of the season.

I’m always puzzled by the allure. This kid is one of the best WR in the nation regardless if he plays at VC, MD, or Jefferson in Daily city. Look at Brock Bowers who I think is one of the best TE NFL prospect norcal has ever seen. He went to Napa Hs!! He dominated day 1 at Georgia! Doesn’t matter people. Quit drinking the cool aid

steel sharpens steel. MD has superior everything to Jefferson and MC in regards to a football player in 2022.

What it is literally like in the Trinity League:

Jason Negro: Happy to announce the transfer of 3-Star WR Israel Polk from 370+ miles away!

Bruce Rollinson: Real Cute. Hold my beer!

All these athletes going to these schools. Is not high school football. It sports academy football! The real high school football is Los Banos v Dos Polos. Hilmar v Escalon. Oakdale going up to Dunleavy Field to play Sonora. And the kids and coaches are linked for life. I can't see that if a kid is only there for a year. And home town football? It's family reunion every Friday fall night!

If you’re the number 2 WR in your class, what does playing at Serra or Mater Dei do. To many people are on these young mens ears. If you are that good they find you. And the connections one can make for after football in the event of a unexpected injury goes along way in Silicon Valley.

Exactly! It does not matter.
looks like Lyons from Folsom going to Stanford. I was surprised byu didn’t get him but that’s a better choice than getting lost at Bama or Ohio st.

You get to play and practice with elite talent and resources. You get to travel and play versus superior competition. Why would you be upset because a athlete wants to try to compete versus the best? It is your job as a parent to put your child in the best possible situation to succeed. Athletes or science student whatever they may be.

Understood, but uprooting a family abruptly is not that easy of a thing to pull off. Lots of other factors beides football come into play. I’m looking at the entire picture.

And I don't care! I like REAL high school football! I get it you like to follow these kids to Bama. I enjoy watching the grandkids of my classmates play. I enjoy meeting parents and fans from opposing teams. That's how I met Champ. That's how I met Slug bug. The one down thing about high school football. Is how certain schools have separate sides. Sonora you all sit on same side. There is sports academy schools. Don't try to pass them off as high schools! Why did California stop playing IMG? Sports academy not real high school!

something you guys gotta understand... iron sharpens iron. He wants to be the best you gotta go where the best are and play against the best - Bosco, Cen10, BG, and more talented teams in the Southern Section. He will not get anything out of playing against these san francisco schools or silicon valley teams full of children of millionaires.

So he just became the 2nd best receiver in the nation by just because. See I come from way back. I have more of a basketball background and I have seen tons of kids stay at their respective high schools and I have seen many transfer to the so called prep school and fizzle out. See my take is simple, and maybe football is a tad different. But if I am the best, I am staying the best at my school. Isn’t that the issue now in the NBA, the aka super teams. I just don’t see how if one is the best it is such a huge step above to play with others who are the best as well. Not every kid makes the pros. But guys like Brady, Adams, Rodgers, Lynch, Baxtiari, Harris, and a few others somehow staying at their high schools worked out. Michigan found Brady. BAMA found Harris. Kids are getting recruited all over the nation, not just from the well we play the best leagues.

Oh and one last thing. Many athletes from all sports cause as I said some get injured and some just don’t make it, so those friendships with Silicon Valley millionaires pay off for several. As they say it’s not what you know it’s who you know. Their are two kids who had full scholarships from my high school, one is now owns a massive investment firm and the other has a big time job at Google. Any given day a football career could be done, but hey, I see why everyone such as in the landscape of basketball is told their kids will be big time. Cause we have people who always make sure sports is first and foremost. More power to the kid, it’s a choice everyone makes. But guys like the Damian Lillards and Jason Kidds of the world did just fine as well. 2 years 122mil extension, and left a private school to play in the Oakland athletic league. It worked for Lynch, and obviously career earnings when all is said and done of 460mil for Lillard, god if he only went to Mater Dei maybe it would be 500 plus

You guys should really read the story
The VC coach was quoted that this was a non athletic transfer. So I would assume a parent has a new job or needed a new living arrangement

you silicon valley/sf people should understand it best... those rankings are like valuations of start up companies. all Fluff. You can't rely on them you gotta keep going at it in PADS against the best. These rankings don't mean shite #2 or #3 it don't matter and it changes based on class year. I'm sure there are 2024 or 2022 receivers that are better than Jurrion.

You have to keep pushing yourself to get better for the next level. He has already proved everything he needed by playing these SF/SV schools. It's time he challenges himself so he can excel at the D1 level and go to the league. those little corners from San Francisco are not the same as Aaron Williams, Khristian Dunbar Hawkins, or Roderick Pleasant.

I dont mind Dickey transferring only because this increases the odds of Jerry Mixon Jr becoming WCAL POY. And just to bring everyone back down to earth here, just because you go to Mater Dei doesnt automatically get you to the NFL. Currently only 5 active Mater Dei players on NFL rosters, none are considered impact players.

So had he stayed at VC he wouldn’t have excelled. Ok got ya. So educate me since again I will admit I am not the most knowledgeable guy when it comes to football, but I also very good at researching. This past season the top 5 reception yards aka receivers in the NFL, all went to regular high schools. One of them from nor cal played against super powers like Burlingame, Hollister, Wilcox, Los Gatos, and the number 1 education public school in norcal Gunn(you should see the athletes they got, wow), but come playoffs beat those Silicon Valley powers in Bellarmine and Valley Christian, oh and ended the season beating a 14-0 Centennial team. Guess they didn’t get to many transfers that year. So I can gladly research other positions, or you can educate me further which lord knows when it comes to football I can use some help

I am curious how many Trinity league players are actually top 5-10 in every offensive position. And how many transferred to say IMG and powers like that. And I hope Jerry for the sake of our alum continue to flourish and does big things. It was great to see Lucas Kelly play baseball. Kid is good

At some point, as things progress on the national football front, teams in the Trinity League may well negotiate their own TV deal. NIL money would not be far behind. It's all about the cheddar, for good or ill.

and you think heisman winner Bryce Young will also be a mediocre NFL palyer? 5 active players from one high school is a lot. How many active palyers are there from St. Francis, De La Salle, VC, Sacred Heart, Berkeley, and so forth?? I'm waiting

I know you didn’t mention Serra (SM), but they do have three active in the NFL.

…and three Heisman trophy winners from Mater Dei. More than any other high school in the nation. This isn’t about the NFL. It’s about college prep.

Hard to predict with Bryce Young. He has talent but just not height. These pro talent evaluators will find the flaws. Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray are not tall but are solid below the waist. Young doesnt have thick legs and Robert Griffin III comes to mind. His legs just couldnt take the punishment of the NFL and his career was cut short.

St. Francis has 2, DLS has 2, Bishop O'Dowd has 5, Serra has 3.
