For the first time in more than a half-century of existence, most home football games at El Camino High School in South San Francisco will be played at night in 2015. Portable lights will be used for games on Sept. 25 and Oct. 9, 16 and 23. Home games on Sept. 5 and Nov. 14 will remain as afternoon affairs. An agreement also has been reached to have permanent lights installed in time for the 2016 prep football season. An announcement detailing these changes was made Aug. 13 during a meeting of the South San Francisco Unified School District Board of Trustees. El Camino, like rival South San Francisco, has a recently-modernized football facility which features an artificial turf playing surface, new bleachers and other amenities.
