Jump on board and come down and support the MA Polynesian Night Train. This Defense hits like a runaway freight train. I’ve hitched a ride and think this team will win state. Absolute Violent defense that probably could walk on hot coals they are so primal. With their offense on point they can’t be stopped! Best of luck to the rest of CCS, but these blood thirsty Animals have put the rest of State on watch!

Wilcox has the Veer rolling and are tough on Defense. They do not make many mistakes. Wilcox will come in as a 3TD favorite IMO. Best of luck to both teams.

Wilcox is probably very similar to HMB last season. Similar offense and don't make many mistakes.

Wilcox being a 3 TD favorite is laughable at best. They're good but they're not Valor Christian.

Wilcox may win but it will be a ball game for sure.

What's the old say? Offense sells tickets but Defense wins Championships? I think Menlo-Atherton has one of the best defenses in the state while Wilcox has deserving of the #1 seed.

It seems like M-A has been their own worst enemy many times this season in terms of penalties, turnovers and mental breakdowns. No doubt they have the horses, but can they maintain the high level of play from here on out?

RE: M-A vs Wilcox

A couple of brief facts regarding M-A prior to proclaiming the Bears "as one of the state's best defenses" or that Wilcox is a 3 TD favorite over M-A. Does M-A have a very good D? Yes. IS M-A's D among the best in the state? No.
M-A's D is 3rd among the top teams of the CCS and anyone who thinks M-A's D is best in CCS they have not seen either SF or VC play. Both SF & VC have allowed less points and with stronger schedules. Most points given up by each team during season: SF allowed 33 to DLS, M-A allowed 28 to Milpitas, VC allowed 20 to Clovis West. Rankings of the 3 teams = DLS then Clovis West then Milpitas. Having said that all 4 teams Wilcox, M-A, VC & SF are very, very good teams and watching SF-VC or M-A vs Wilcox this week will be a real treat.

Wilcox due to their unbeaten record and season opening win over Valley Christian is IMO a very slight favorite over
M-A, but Wilcox is nowhere near a 3 TD favorite & if someone will give you M-A + 21 you should bet the house on M-A.

This is one of the best section finals of the weekend. With both teams style and personnel, I expect a lower scoring/physical game. I lean to Wilcox by one score, but this is close to a toss up for me

That's neither here nor there though.

MA doesn't need to be the top defense in the CCS to be considered one of the best defenses in the state. Also, scores can be deceiving. Reality is Milpitas scored 14 points in the last 2:20 of the game down 45-28.

Do I think their defense is better than SF's? No. Better than VC's? Probably not. I haven't seen them play to be able to make that statement.

Does any of that mean MA doesn't have one of the best defenses in the state? Not at all.
