MP computer rankings uses winning games over Strenght of schedule, head to head, etc. Beat a team by 40 and remain 4 spots behind them. They need to upgrade their AI computer model. Many leagues use these unjust rankings for seeding and tie breakers.

Don't blame the rankings,blame league reps and those who voted to adopt those rules. Delta League should eventually go to play everyone once then 'league playoffs' to determine champ and auto qualifiers. Plenty other leagues already adopted this model.

I don’t believe anybody in the SJS does that league playoff. Also, MC beating Lincoln twice and still being back 3 spots is pretty insane.

SJAA does. It'll increase in popularity real soon.

It removes blame from committees and commissioners on the placement of teams. It makes it arbitrary and nonsensical. So instead of people calling out the committees for their mess-ups they can only blame a algorithm, and the algorithm effects everyone. Its exactly what they want.

I agree, but the MP rankings still stare you in the face.

SJAA is trying a new method of scheduling. We have went to Play everyone ONCE. There are 8 Teams in our League. So after the 7 games are played you rank them 1-8. This week we start the 8 Team tournament. 1st Round is Elimination round. Thursday is Final 4. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place all make playoffs and have to be seeded how they finished in the tournament. (What if upsets happen). Well as long as you are ranked top 15 in MP. you still get the automatic qualifier to make SJS playoffs. Having a League playoff is exactly like NCAA with the Confrerence Tournament. We all play at ONE location in front of us. It also helps teams like Edison and Weston Ranch with SOS. Because some years we have teams at the bottom of the Section it doesnt hurt us as much playing those bad teams once instead of twice. Also opens up 7 more non Contacts to seek out teams to play.

BUT IMO. SJS needs a open. Pushing good teams up to D1 and then them not making playoffs isnt fair. EX: this year Vanden they are a D3 school but continued success pushes them to D1. They are a good team and coached well but winning two games in D1 aint easy.

Make a open Section like everyone else.

ALL make the Section SJS OPEN. EVERYONE here makes their respective Division to State playoffs.
Vanden go back to D3 for state. DCA goes D2 State. Top 2 in championship gets open State the rest go back to D1. Then you have Sheldon Franklin Elk Groves playing for D1 Section Champioship.

Instead its a WARZONE in D1 SJS and many good teams get left out of state playoffs.
