Coach Saunders won’t make it to next season. Lost to a Bellarmine squad that isn’t great. Lost to Menlo School and just got BEAT DOWN 41-3 by Wilcox. Woah….

It should be noted that the previous M-A mentor was driven out by parents after just one season on the job. That guy never had a chance. Neither does Saunders.

Sounds like another mentor going to be shredded in the whirling blades of hovering helicopter parents.

IS M-A really a good job? Ravipati had great success, but IMHO, the pressure to continue winning state titles while still holding a full time job proved too much. And all new coaches are compared to Ravipati at that place.

Also, there is ALOT of behind the scenes work at MA just to keep players on track and on the field - "Built by MA". Pappin was a pretty good hire and he was bounced after 1 season AND THEY WON THE LEAGUE. Now Saunders won't even make it to next season? MA will probably be mid to bottom of the league. But the Bay is the one of the best "mostly" public school leagues out there. Who are they gonna hire if they bounce yet another coach? And by they, I mostly mean the people in the STANDS supporting all those POWER 5 recruits out there. We have a ref shortage and next will be a coach shortage if these impossible standards continue. This is not NCAA or NFL. Most HS coaches get paid less than $7,000 per year.

ease up on Saunders.

Ravipati brought the "Built for Life" personal development program to Riordan, something he instituted at M-A. It’s a program for players to “grow and develop as people, and build what it takes to be consistently successful,

its "Menlo ----Atherton" maybe 50-50 but alot of those kids are set up quite well and dont really need a "built 4 life" football coach

He brought the “3 & 4 Star Portal” approach across county and state lines.

just bumping this to point out that coach saunders is still at menlo and atherton, they are absolutely thriving, and are favorites to win there league and make a deep playoff run this year. stop trying to slander a good man and a good coach.

Some notes after Week 3: Mitty shut out M-A last week; unbeaten Los Gatos is the heavy favorite to win the PAL Bay Division title in 2024. M-A is expected to vie with Wilcox for second place. M-A should be favored in its remaining league games vs. Paly, Menlo School and SHP.

los gatos has a good team this year but they have played nobody in preseason and I think that will show when the chips are on the table against vs. menlo and atherton. that game is the de facto league championship but menlo and atherton are the clear favorites

Wilcox is a problem.
wilcox are what they always are. a scrappy team with tough kids, there coaches are experienced good people who run a quality program, on the field they run the veer but there execution is never great and teams that have seen the veer before and can execute a gameplan usually pull away in the second half. if they could figure out how to incorporate the forward pass into there offense they would be on to something in years where they have speed.
