Bells had problems defending the spread offense and also were without their starting qb. Mitty looked impressive with qb Sam Serra having another huge game for the Monarchs. Bells started a soph qb who did ok, but they are a totally different team with Martig in. Wcal is up for grabs!

Makes Riordans win over Mitty that much more impressive

Um No it doesn't unless you didn't notice Bell's were without their best player - their QB Troy Martig...
Bells were not even close to the same team w/o Martig..

Rmbr, you keep harping on the Not The Same Team mantra. They scored 28 and i might be wrong but Martig doesn't play defense. I'm sure they are better on offense with him and may have scored 42 if he played but to say they are not even close over and over again doesn't ring true.

Wow. What an upset. Bells O definelty runs differently based on the QB

This may have have a large impact on the Regional Bowl games. may push CVC into the top game vs Folsom

After watching Rocklin completely manhandle Del Oro it is all beginning to make sense.

Losing Martig cost them 14 points and a win probably. They still gave up 35.

Martig indirectly is a key to the Bells D as he can manage time consuming scoring drives, keeping the Bells D off the field...

How many points did Mitty lose by not having their best RB -injured- on the field?

Hard to say...7-10 points ? as he was the heart and soul of the team on O and D. I'm not taking anything away from the Crusaders victory but illustrating a point in reply to Rmbrs' previous comment as their D is very formidable with Mitty struggling on O and Riordan literally blew by the Monarchs after the Norman scoop and streak for the TD.

Ok I get it, but is giving Riordan any credit that difficult for you?

Agreed. I say the loss of Martig for Bells and Bauerle for Mitty evened things out. Both are considered their heart and soul of their respective teams.

People were saying the Bells were the real deal when they beat Del Oro. Until we all found out how bad Del Oro really was...

Didn't you say last week, Del Oro was "the best of the best?" That Del Oro would beat anyone in North Bay by 50 points? Ya. Nice call.

Actually they would beat anyone from the North Bay League. That league is a joke...

And I was not the one who said they were the best of the best. I was quoting others who ACTUALLY PICKED THEM TO BEAT US 2 weeks ago ;)

Got em ;)
