Nate Fripp leaving SMB

Looks like after 10 years Nate Fripp is packing his bags and going to UC Santa Barbara as an assistant coach. This was posted by Chris Roemer. Any idea who the new coach will be? Think it a good time for him to leave cause arch rival Salesian looks to have a top 5 team..

This is very surprising news and opens up a good job on the NorCal high school scene.

Congrats to Nate on the new job! Very cool to see him get an opportunity at that level.

Listed on Maxpreps is Samuel Sims as the coach of SMB now. Was Samuel Sim previously an assist coach on SMB?

Sims has coached with Fripp as well as Mark Anger with EBX for a long time I am thinking early 2000s
Usually where you would find Fripp coaching, Sims was usually nearby

Sims is also currently serving as the DC for the varsity football team at SM as well
not sure how he will balance both as the football Panthers are headed for NCS playoffs
We will see if he can work through this season, and maybe he will be able to shake that interim tag come season's end
