NCS Open finals…. DLS at Campo. (Go Cougs!)

My son told me when he played waterpolo as a junior higher for the Lamorinda Club the future Campo coach Dyer was a member on his team. He said Dyer was a Baller in the water back then. Said that Dyer was amped then, always had a ball in his hands. When standing around on the pool deck he was often bouncing a ball before and after matches. .Even growing up he was wired in......Very talented, a natural a good homegrown talent/find/hire/role model......a keeper.

The game should be closely reviewed by the referee association for the last 2 minutes when the gray haired ref had questionable travel call out of his area, then probably 3 no calls against Campo. Great win for Campo.

Agree the travel was a terrible call but DLS make 2FT they are Open champs.

There were a lot of questionable calls on both sides. Crazy game.

Okay, now that I am home and can actually type... As I said up there, right after the start of the 4th quarter, I realized there was no way I can use the Bluetooth keyboard because everybody was standing and I have to sit down to type... Hence, the quality of my posts went downhill... More like off a cliff.

Once I got the phone set up to use its own virtual keyboard, I saw that the Cougs had just scored, took a hurried glance at the score and misread it as 45-44 Cougs when it was the other way around. I then posted "now the Cougs get the lead", which was easy to make one wonder just what the heck happened...

But anywayyy... One hell of a game... Loud as heck!

I believe both teams will get selected for NorCal Open, no matter what goes on in the other section finals tonight... But ya never know with these seeding thingies...

Speaking of which, I'm off to hunt games down on NFHS.

Great game! Thanks once again Kiddman for your comprehensive reporting.

Both times these teams have played this year, Campo has overcome double digit second half Spartan leads and battled back to win. They’ve ratcheted up the defense, allowing DLS just 2 4th quarter points in Gridley and just 5 tonight. Just like DLS had come back on Miramonte Wednesday and held them to just 2 in the 4th.

Cade Bennett did a great job in shutting down Semany tonight, and the Cougs scored just enough points to pull it off.

Congrats to both teams on fantastic seasons and good luck at NorCal.
