Think league champs are 100% in. Probably be 8 seed and have to travel to LL as they were a league champ as well. Probably bumps a o'Dowd team?So here is a question with Santa Rosa upsetting Piner this weekend. Santa Rosa takes first place in their league and is ranked 14th in DIV 3 according to calpreps rankings.
Is Santa Rosa guaranteed a spot in the NCS.
League champs 100% in.
Co-Champions only automatically in if they draw the “auto qualifier straw”. This means only one of three teams tied for the championship would get the automatic qualifier birth. So two out of three teams that are co-champs do not automatically get in.
Not sure when this will be disclosed, but everyone in their league should know who has the authentic qualifier.
Strength of schedule is usually a very big deal to the seeding process, so I would expect to see Bishop O’Dowd get in due to their strength of schedule being #1.
Campo, LlL, and Acalanes will all get in, but only one has the auto-Q.
D2 should be interesting.
Good point regarding wins and EC. The selection committee can be unpredictable, that is what will make it interesting. So Santa Rosa is 100% in. El Cerrito as a tri champ might not be in. If they get in, no way O’Dowd gets in. Strength of schedule is important but not as valid when you only have 3 wins and placed 3rd in your own league. Combined record of opponents beaten was 10-20. If el Cerrito doesn’t get the automatic, I would still take them over O’Dowd. El Cerrito had a strong schedule as well, won their league, and had a better quality win.
