I know its a tough job to have to select 15 players.. Lot of good guys left off the list. Christian Ellis of Modesto Christian not being in the top 15 was a shocker, there are 3 more as well. Is this list based off of actual statistics on the year or potential/perception?

Hard to say. Overall a good list. Ellis was a key person but so was peters from DLS.

Sayeed Pridgett is a first team player in my book and I would move Milstead down. I'm not a big Milstead fan. Jordan Brown is on the NBA radar as a soph and is far and away the most skilled 6"10 kid I've seen in the last 20 years at this age from NorCal. Yes even Rabb.

Sayeed Pridgett is a first team player in my book and I would move Milstead down. I'm not a big Milstead fan. Plays no defense and makes a Lot of mistakes. Jordan Brown is on the NBA radar as a soph and is far and away the most skilled 6"10 kid I've seen in the last 20 years at this age from NorCal. Yes even Rabb. But he's only a 2nd team averaging 26 and 16... ?? Ok.S

Terrell from sac high was key in there run. He should be on this list.

The teams/kids are not picked solely on statistics. Take into account where they are playing and who they are playing. These teams are merely a popularity contest. IMO

So if Milstead has all these flaws why does he constantly get selected for all theses awards?

No one said he has all these flaws. I've watched these kids a lot and anybody with a brain in their head knows how good Pridgett is and how important he was this year to EC. If I'm starting a team and need a guard its a no brainer who I'm picking.

The All-NorCal team is based on statistics and how they contributed to winning teams.

I have to agree with Larry. SHOCKER.
Pridgett is an incredible talent and also one of my favorite Norcal Players.
Jordan Brown over Idenhen by a mile on the first team.

I also would have replaced Duffy but not with Ellis. Isaiah Brooks Sheldon or Terrell Sac go before him. What about Oscar Frayer from Moreau.

Streak Statistics......... So tell me the difference between A player who averages 16 on a mediocre team when no one else averages more than 10-11 vs a team where you have 4 guys averaging double figures Like 19 ,15,15 and 13. You pick the 16 point guy because of STATISTICS. SMH

I have seen all the top guards in normal and quite frankly not many are better than Isiah brooks of Sheldon. Had opportunity to spend quite a bit of time with and see him go against some high level players. He is legit. Quite frankly didn't know he was that good. Great pick up for Chico State.

Good call HEAT/PASSFIRST. Chico continues to recruit under the radar kids especially from that Elk Grove /Sac Area. I love pridgett game. I watched him really develop as a leader and a great teammate. He's going to do well at the next level.

Pass first agree. Isaiah Shot 58% overall from the floor as a guard. He was 44% from 3 , 66% from 2 and 86% from the line. He had some big games 38 points on 15-21 from floor against Monterey Trail. Had A 13-13-10 triple double against Davis. A 7-7 from floor and 19 points 10 assists in big norcal game vs Moreau Catholic. All of this while sharing the ball WITH MATT MANNING, DEVIN GREENE ,ELISHJA DUPLECHAN All first team all delta as well as Drew Cobb.

I'm saying he has flaws that somehow gets overlooked. He should not be first team all Norcal. In terms of Isiah Brooks he's a talented player as well as Saeed Pridgett, but there's a local kid who doesn't get much love but mark my words he's going to be a stud and I'm purposely not mentioning his name!!

OK My Peters ill mention him for you. Seen him play . Nice frame, good defender and can get hot from the outside. People where wondering why he had no interest. I recently read a column that might explain that. good luck to him and his future. Looks like things may be on the upside.

He's one of the kids that I think that's going to be one of the better ones in the class of 2016.

To not have George Dancer on at least the fifth team is a travesty. Kid signed early and averaged 18 a game for a 20 win team. Went against the best of the best. No offense but I saw the Liberty Ranch kid play twice and he couldn't get Dancer a drink of water, IMHO.

BEYER COACH i believe you may be on the wrong thread. Nor cal preps only had 3 teams. If you are talking about 5th team you might be talking about Max preps which had 5 teams. Those teams are picked by one person and its Joe Davidson. Don't get to worked up about ONE and Only ONE guys opinion

BeyerCoach: He played against the best of the best???LOL.. Who did you guys play this year?

Weight of league should definitely factor in and Beyer just didn't play anybody. I also saw them play in the Modesto Christian tourney and they lost by 20 plus!!!

Assist i know what you mean but you must not have seen them play in the MC tourney. They went 2-2 and lost by 4 and 8. They did lose by 41 to MC and by 28 . They also were a 5th seed in playoffs and lost to a 4th place Grant team in the first round.

Perhaps the biggest issue was a coaching fault. BEYER HAS NO STATS ON MAX PREPS. All max preps teams are chosen with the aide of stats on max preps

Is obviously the opinion of ONE person from what I can see lol. I do not understand what some of the so called experts see when they are watching prep games. Popularity contest for sure, in my opinion.

It is definitely a popularity contest.. I also see where they have kids ranked in the top 10 for the class 2017 that didn't even average double figures. If you don't know what your doing you should not rank kids, period! Then we all wonder why the college transfer list hits 700+ year after year.

So whose driving this popularity contest? I was just looking at the 2018 Norcalprep top 30 and the one kid from O'Dowd they list him at 6'2 with several major offers, number one he's not 6'2 and IMO he's not a high major recruit. So what gives?
