Pinewood won with great defense and a big shot from Courtni Thompson late.
Both teams, known for their offense, played excellent man-to-man for the entire game, and baskets were very hard to come by. In the end, as is often the case in close games between evenly matched teams, it came down to which team would make a big shot. Piedmont did; Miramonte didn't.
Great effort from both teams, nothing to be ashamed of. Nobody comes to a game and says "You know, I think I'll miss a bunch of shots tonight," but it happens.

I hear American's Dawson Bell torched OT for something like 25-27 in the loss. I know Coach Hurt was already lobbying to get her to join his CA Ballaz AAU squad. Seeing what she did to him last night, he may have to up his offer.
