North Bay Outllok

Rancho and newman are the clear favorites. Rancho has a lot of talent and I think will be the team to beat not only in nbl but ncs as well . Newman was Young last year and Coach Sanchez did a stellar job. Tough to replace Cronin but newman got a real good one. Windsor lost some big pieces from last years champ team.

But north of the GG, sounds like Marin Catholic is the top dog.

Sleeper team will be San Marin, they are pretty stacked this year with Michael Ingrassia’s brother starting as a sophomore there at QB, they have a really good crop of JV kids coming up too

How will St. Vincent do this year ?

This is the year San Marin has been looking forward to and I’d still put MC on top before I’d say MC.

I think SV will have a drop off this year. They still have the Hall kid, but lose Antonini and a few others on the offensive side.

How has each team fared in any 7x7 tournaments etc?

How does Analy and Petaluma look this year. I hear Petaluma and Analy will be looking up this year.

Cronin is back in the area and not coaching but has a teaching job locally.

In Main SM and MC look legit.

In Sonoma Rancho may be top this year, CN will probably be good but I know their numbers aren’t the same (No Frosh team). Windsor who knows. After that it’s just not very good unless a surprise team shows up (Analy, Casa, Petaluma)
SV has a nice little program but low numbers, nothing in numbers like 10 years ago, although a few good athletes mainly from Santa Rosa.

Napa County- I’m sure Vintage will be the best but their league isn’t D1 caliber. American Canyon is usually fine. Saint Helena has a good small school program up there, they will compete with SV.

Isn’t the NBL/VVAL aligning based on “competitiveness” next year?

Another team to watch in Marin is Tam, all 3 losses last year were 2 times to Mc and once to SM their QB is a D1 level player I think they end being the 3rd best in Marin with maybe redwood behind them

The San Marin QB is going to be fun to watch the next 3 years!

Joey Cook who threw for 30 TDs last year and went 14-1 with a state bowl had to transfer to MC to start that’s how legit Dominic Ingrassia is
MC415, is Marin Catholic scratching head on why he’s not in Kentfield? What is story?

I don’t think so? I thought it was just the NBL Oak and Redwood that re-aligned for competitive equity?

This year Montgomery and Santa Rosa are gong to the Oak and Carrillo and Ukiah to the Redwood for football.

the thing is he is a born and raised Novato kid, played in San Marin Pop Warner system so it sounds like he wanted to stay home and pave his own way………MC has another kid who is a sophomore that is going to be legit so they will be okay
The Water is good in Marin County for these QB’s. That makes sense. I watched some film on him. Holy smokes he’s talented. Only a matter of Time before some big names offer.

The JV QB beat out the starting varsity QB that went 14-1 and was a state champion? Why did they not start the younger kid last year?

There has to be more to the stor
I’m sure this is something but take a look at the kids film and it’s probably just pure talent/skills. You have the future right there. Hard choice but sometimes somebody is just better.

yup and who knows maybe Ingrassia goes to MC to start for 2 years instead sitting at SM and SM had to make a choice ?

My guess is Joey Cook is going to have something to prove at MC this year and he'll have a ton of weapons at his disposal. He's being recruited at the FCS level as well.

Loaded. But what’s up with the schedule? They aren’t going to be tested at all. I was hoping Mack would remain on it but I guess not. Freedom, Spanish Springs, Casa, Antioch…. All blowouts.
Antioch won’t be bad this year I think they have some legit guys on that team who if they had a QB who could throw last year would have been better, James Logan won’t be easy……..Freedom will be much better they got that Pitt QB tea after who did well when Rashada was out…..Spanish spring who knows ? Antioch and JL will be D1 playoff teams and Freedom could be too

Would like to play SI every year not sure why that stopped and kept El Cerrito…….I think they have had enough of Mack to know they won’t ever have the athletes on the outside to keep up with them.

Mc415… I like you guys a lot. No reason to not have a state bowl in my mind.

Yeah, Mack speed is on another level.

What happened to the annual MC-SI games? That was a preseason lock for years.

I recall the last time Riordan played Marin Catholic the Wildcats blasted the Crusaders in Kentfield. Lol. Great venue and school community support!

Looking at Marin’s schedule, they show only 3 home games, looks off or late changes. Comparing to last year, looks like ElCerrito is playing Amador instead, and McClymonds vs Tamalpais Those would be great matchups vs Marin. El Cerrito should be better this year, and McClymonds won’t be as good as last year.

Yeah I look at my newman team who will be better then last year but not nearly as good as MC and they have a really stout schedule.
San Leandro
Vacaville
St marys of Stockton
Vintage

but mc may have had a tough time getting people to play them. They are a d4 team that will be able to compete at d1 level.
In any event who is ready!

To MC's defense, they play a lot of D1 schools and MC only has enrollment of about 800 kids. So while Antioch, Freedom and Logan might not be dominant football schools at this point, they should in theory be good tests and they're all road games too. Spanish Springs in Reno / Sparks, also on the road, we'll be a tough game as well.
The overall lack of homes games though seems like an odd scheduling issue this year.

How good will Rancho be this season?

Someone mentioned Tamalpais, they do look like a sleeper that could sneak up on a few teams.

Rancho will be very good. Return a good group off a 10-2 team that won the NBL last year. They have a dynamic player in Valawadre (cal commit). To me they are the clear front runners in the nbl with newman 2nd.

Sounds like a solid one two. Can Windsor compete with either of them, they seem to be coming off a solid season as well.

Windsor is a wild card. Obviously big blow losing Cronin. And I think most feel they would slip way back. DJ is a good coach and I think they might surprise some. But by that I mean maybe a 3rd place finish. Early I’d say 1. Newman and 2. Rancho.
