Agreed, but like I said different era. Back in the day, you made the culture, you made the system. Too many damn parents telling kids “you don’t fit in that system”. Your not a big, your a PG. Etc.
Let me ask you a question,
Why was LA city so dominant for that many years with (Crenshaw, Dominguez, Fairfax, Westchester, etc.) ? Now all these southern section private schools are best in the nation?
Is it Sierra Canyons rich basketball tradition?
St. John Bosco has more school pride then multiplie state champ Crenshaw? (Just an example)
Absolutley Not! It’s because it has everything to do with OPPORTUNITY, nothing to do with LOYALTY. Kids leave the school for a different school because of the opportunity, not the loyalty. Has nothing to do with fitting in. Has to do with What’s best for me? Not what’s best for the team. THATS NOT ALL CASES. And it’s not only inner city schools transferring. All kids are looking for the better opportunity. If that means I leave this school after you coaching me for 2-3 season everyday, then that’s your problem not mine.
