What a couple of weeks for the Folsom Bulldogs! Go for two for the win against Jesuit! And then come back and beat undefeated Rocklin for the 6th section title in 8 years. This after Rocklin defeated Folsom earlier in the season. How sweet it is!
Liberty Bakersfield winner of Central Section D1 against Central High lost to Clayton Valley early in the season 14-13. Looks like Spartan's are in the Open division championship after Lancer's loss.
I agree. Good case for both, but I lean toward DLS

Tough to beat a good team twice and Serra was playing well at end of season. I blew it not picking Folsom. I thought Rocklin's offense would do something although thought it would be close and didn't lose too much on that. Another tough pickem week.
Id say DLS because Folsom just one the SJS D1 championship. Tomorrow if Monterey Trail wins the SJS D2 championship it will make for a stronger argument. Plus the Pitt win. That 3 section championships. If Central Catholic wins tomorrow, Serrs would have a win over the Bells who beat CC. I just don't see much other than they beat the team that beat DLS. Is that a strong enough argument. Idk
The Playoffs were like an OK Corral circle shootout with all participants knocked out and only the undertaker left standing.
OK I get it - St. Francis defeats DLS and then in playoffs Serra defeats SF and therefore DLS should get the nod?

They're both good teams and not sure Serra could beat DLS, but then again not positive DLS could beat Serra as tonite they've proved they are "up to the task" so to speak. Good game plan Coach Walsh - masterful!

It is embarrassing especially considering that the 2nd,3rd and 4th best teams in the state are going to be sitting at home
Agree that Folsom winning SSJ D1 will be the clincher over Serra. Also DLS win over Clayton Valley Charter who defeated the Central Section D1 champ will be in the Lancer's side. Serra win over Lancer on their side but they also were dominated in earlier loss to the Lancers. Will be surprised if Spartan's don't face Socal's best.
Rocklin was a great team with the lead. They could control the clock and wear you down. There offense always worried me somewhat and they weren’t able to get anything going tnite. Folsom finally utilized its 4 star players and it opened up the run.
Just because Serra had the opportunity to avenge their only loss and DLS didn't doesn't make their resume better.. For the sake of full disclosure, Serra got boatraced by SF in the first game.41-19. Game never in doubt. SF scored with 15 seconds left to get by DLS. DLS loss to St Frances of MD totally irrelevant for CIF purposes.

As an SF alum sucks my boys lost but Serra earned it, so good on them. Either way I wasn't expecting a close game vs MD, just hoped they had the opportunity

I personally think it goes to DLS, but feel both have good arguments to be the open rep. Besides we are basically discussing who gets the opportunity to get their clock cleaned by SoCal's best

This I agree with. This is why all nerdy SBG breakdowns the past few weeks were pointless and a waste of time. Let stuff play out and see where things stand at the end. No point breaking down things that haven’t happened.

Like i said, I believe DLS gets it, but IMO Serra has a better resume. Its a bad look for DLS having 2 losses and one was a butt thrashing. Doesn't matter how bad Serra lost to SF because Serra of today was the better team, so we will agree to disagree
Why is is a bad look for DLS to have loses to 2 teams who are a combined 19-2 with a one loss to STA and the other Serra? Not sure I get that?

That domination tonight by Folsom over Rocklin was something I've never seen before. Rocklin got absolutely CHOKED OUT against Folsom.
Yeah one loss to a college all star team and it was 42-28. Not sure I get that either.
Stop advocating for DLS to mask your prediction of a Rocklin SJS title victory. You need to be held accountable.

Lets be honest here. There isn’t a High School Football team in the world who is beating Mater Dei. Throw a different animal into the Lion’s Den. Let De La go and beat up on Cathedral Catholic or something.
