I'm out at Prairie City tonight for this SFL matchup. Not sure if the game is being streamed, so I'll try to post some updates.

Rocklin stopped Folsom on 4th and goal from the 5. Pass was complete to the goal line but ruled just short.

Rocklin was forced to punt from their 3.

Folsom took over near the 40 and hit Roger Neal on a throw back pass for a TD. The Thunder got pressure on the XP and forced a miss.

Rocklin ran out the clock to go to half.

Rocklin has owned the 1st half and held Folsom's offense to one score. Unfortunately the big mistake made by Will Floyd and great anticipation play by Stallworth has this a 1pt game.

Rocklin has been successful running the ball and churning out 1st downs. No long runs by Holtz. Mostly gains between 3 and 8 or 9 yards. The Thunder haven't really tried to go to Wes Preece at all, which is surprising.

After a penalty on the KO return, Rocklin started at their 9. After a 1st down they finally took a shot deep, #25 Nolan dropped what would have been a 40+ yd gain. A couple of 3rd down conversions later, Rocklin is driving inside Folsom's 30. #26 RB Holtz is really starting to get yards on the ground.

Rocklin forces a 4th and 3 from the Folsom 35. The Bulldogs lined up to go for it but then called time out. They don't like to punt, but have done so at least twice. Maybe they are over their quota.

They actually did go for it and converted on another quick wheel route.

2 plays later QB Jeffries breaks a read option play for a long gain but is stripped from behind but the ball goes out of bounds.

2 plays later Jeffries throws a TD pass from 7 yards out. Game is on ice.

28-14 Folsom with 1:43 remaining.

Turnovers killed Rocklin. 1 early pick 6 and a 15 pt swing on the fumble into the end zone. Folsom survives, but I like Elk Grove's chances should they play. Folsom's offense isn't that impressive and they can be run on.

Rocklin controlled the clock, and made some time consuming drives but their failure to score on their 1st second half possession really changed things. That and the early pick 6 was the game.

Also, failing to involve TE Wes Preece, who presents a huge mismatch, was a big mistake. They didn't even try.
