Rocklin 28 Del Oro 3 FINAL

Yes, but when is it ever good to schedule a game you have no chance in getting within 50 points of? I'd bet if you were to go ask the players, I'm sure they would be happy to drop the DLS game.

Maybe, just maybe, the coach is teaching his players to take on challenges in life even when the outcome is uncertain or daunting. Its not always about football. Somebody has to play DLS might as well be DO I guess. That which does not kill us only makes us stronger!

But for outsiders to judge a program because of how they make an area of league or section look is ignorant as all heck. I highly doubt the DO coach or team gives 2 winks how they make Nor Cal look because of their pre league record lol. Smh all most good coaches care about is bettering their players and program and achieving their team goal.

This spot on. Besides, the proof is the pudding. It's clearly obvious that their preseason schedules over the past 7-8 seasons has helped prepare them for league play and beyond. And that's the goal -- to win league and be prepared for the postseason.

All one has to do is look at the past 6 seasons to see that the aggressive scheduling certainly isn't hindering their program:

2009: Advanced to the D2 Section Finals
2010: Advanced to and won the D3 Section Final
2011: Advanced to the D2 State Bowl Game
2012: Advanced to the D2 Section Semifinals
2013: Advanced to the D1 State Bowl Game
2014: Advanced to the D2 Quarterfinals

They've reached the Section Finals in 4 out of the past 6 seasons, winning 3 of them and a Regional title to boot.

Looks to me like they are accomplishing their goal.

RHS over the Creek Friday night! Sorry they don't play the second best team in Norcal this week!

That's because Rocklin was awful against OR. Flat, uninspired and out-of-sync. And Del Oro is playing the same way right now. I honestly can't recall a more ineffective offense in all the years I've followed them. It's been 2 straight years that they can't run the ball (typically their bread and butter) but not they can't even throw it. I have no idea what's going on with them right now. Never thought I'd see a Casey Taylor coached team play without a bite.
Whats wrong with DO is 14 kids quit three weeks ago.I talked to two of them and they said the reason was the seniors,it was all about them and not the team. They have to many kids playing both ways. Against Folsom it was 3-0 until about 34 seconds in the half.Their defense is ok but their offence turns the ball over at least 3 times times a game.I have seen 4 turnovers inside the ten yard line.

I was not aware of the 14 kids quitting. That is really sad news. I could not put my finger on it but I knew at the Folsom game something was just wrong with the team. Was not at the Rocklin/DO game but that one really stunned me. Seen this thing happen before @DO(kids quitting & resultant losses) with similar results. Hope CT can right the ship with the squad that is left.

There was not 14 kids who quit. This is not correct. Del Oro is finally getting healthy and getting kids back. I expect improved play tonight.
