#13 Whitney at #14 Ponderosa tomorrow night. Whitney won first match by 4, should be tough game. Whitney stumbled against Roseville a couple weeks ago, but has bounced back since winning 4 straight.

been quite a bit of stumbling in the ranks this season, five teams weren't even ranked last week.

Personally I like woodcreek but you can't argue with the top 3-4. After that its a crap shoot. Folsom lost to a very average Oak Ridge team last week. Folsom could lose to any of these teams. Whitney is solid. I think they could beat a lot of the teams ahead of them.

I would agree that the top 3-4 are at a different level, although Whitney did beat Burbank in a scrimmage in November. It was only a scrimmage and not sure they even had everyone. Aside from just the top 20 ranking, I am interested to see how the playoffs will break down by division. In that top 20 I think this is the break down by division. Will any move up? Last year Ponderosa was D2, this year Maxpreps has them at D1. I know Vanden played D2 last year, I believe they are D3. Just trying to see how the sectional playoffs could shake out.

D1
1. Sheldon (1) 19-2
2. Woodcreek (2) 20-2
6. Folsom (5) 16-6
8. Jesuit (7) 11-10
14. Ponderosa (–)13-7
15. Sacramento (18) 11-9
18. Granite Bay (16) 13-8

D2
3. Burbank (3) 19-2
5. Grant (6) 17-5
11. Rio Linda (11) 20-2
12. Roseville (12) 12-8
13. Whitney (13) 16-4
16. Yuba City (–) 14-8
17. Inderkum (–) 15-6

D3
4. Capital Christian (4) 12-7
7. Vista del Lago (8) 17-4
9. Christian Brothers (9) 13-8
10. Placer (10) 19-3

D4
19. West Campus (–) 13-9
20. Liberty Ranch (–) 15-7

looks like there was some more stumbling going on last night; some might stumble out the playoffs

I like Whitney. I think coach french does an amazing job. They are pretty solid and could do damage in D2. Woodcreek is legit! Folsom is struggling. Barely beat DO.

After the top 3-4 it drops off like a cliff. Any of those teams can win/lose on any given night. I mean OR is pretty down this year and lost to GB by 1 and recently beat Folsom. But Woodcreek and Sheldon are in a league of their own. I don't think anybody can sniff them within 20.

There's a major change that will take place with one of the top programs in Sacramento. With respect to the program I won't go into detail but it'll be interesting to see how the remainder of the season plays out for this team.

Totally agree...but when it comes to playoffs, many of those teams won't face Woodcreek or Sheldon, since they will be D1...trying to get a feel for who the favorites will be in the other divisions. Looks to me like Burbank, Whitney, and Grant should be in consideration at the D2 level, but not sure if Vanden will be there (do they get moved to D2?) again like they were last year.

Why even mention it, if your not willing to state the name? This is an insight board. If you have information why not give the inside scoop?

I hope it's not similar to the Elk Grove situation where you have to forfeit games due to errors with paperwork.

I sure do hope Vanden goes D-2 ;0) while they are at it take Capital, Vista and Placer with them.

Burbank is going to be a tough out for anybody. Super athletic team. A bunch of guys 6'3-6'4 who get after you. They are the real deal too. Just play in a horrible league though.

First off, to post something that would spark a rumor and then claim out of respect to the program you won't go into detail is a little hypocritical.

To set all speculation aside... Devon Jones, the Head Varsity Coach of Capital Christian, has taken an intermittent leave of absence to tend to personal health issues. I would expect and assume that those reading this will do nothing more than wish him well as he rests and takes care of himself and his family first.

Thank you... Erika Terrell

In the loss to PG, Grant led by eight at halftime and six after Q3.

This comes on the heels of a two point win over Elk Grove.

In hindsight I probably shouldn't have posted anything I apologize if I offended anybody. CC is actually playing really good basketball they destroyed Odowd. This is in comparison to Salesian who won in 2OTs. CC gets unwarranted criticism because they schedule tough. This am somebody stated that Sheldon and WC would beat everybody in SJS by 20. I disagree I think Burbank can steal a game against either team. But I think CC can outright beat both Sheldon and WC because they are a different team at this point in the season. That's with a HC who has made deep playoff runs. Hopefully he can get back for the playoffs.

Cosumnes Oaks gets the victory today over #7 Vista Del Lago. 68-53 while CC wins over a good modesto Christian team 73-61

Was a little surprised that Vista Del Lago stayed up as high as they did given that they had 2 losses last week...and Rio Loses but moves up...looks like Jesuit was the only one that really got dinged for losing..

Saw that Sac High and Christian Brothers lost on Monday the 6th...but both of those teams moved up in the Bee's standings. Just odd to me. #12 Whitney beat #11 Roseville (78-66) last night..

in the sac bee just above the rankings it says "With previous ranking; records through Saturday"

Yeah I saw that too. Explains why CO didn't move up based on the victory over VDL.

Whitney also beat Ponderosa last week so I assume that there will be a minor shakeup in the rankings from 11-20 this week

Big shake up in the rankings this week..Whitney the big mover, up to 5 from 12...saw that Granite Bay lost last night too..big loss heading into playoffs..

Both of those games will be huge for seeding purposes. Roseville may need it to make the playoffs at all. Whitney needs it to keep a high seed. Whitney beat C Oaks earlier this year by 4. Should be a good game.
