Are we just not going to talk about the fact that SMS beat Turlock 114-18??

How can this be good for anyone? Is this SMS making a statement for the Open Div in SJS? Are they vying for a home game and a seat in the opposite side of the norcal bracket as Mitty?

I don't think there is a good reason for a score like this

How did Turlock even get in the SJS Open division?

Turlock is NOT in the Open Div. There is no open division at the the SJS level. They are in Div. 1. The previous post is referring to SMS at the next NorCal level.

Okay let me try this again. If D1 is highest bracket in SJS then how did they get in D1? Does SJS do the competitive equity thing? If they don't then enrollment would play a part but if they are doing competitive equity then this type of score shouldn't be happening. I don't know enough about SJS to understand.

Sjs is enrollment based divisions until you get to Norcals where it is strictly competitive equity and enrollment is not a factor. No section has competitive equity seeding outside of the open division. After open division is filled it goes back to enrollment. That's why Woodside Priory is in CCS D5 for example. They'll win every game by 30 plus.

Like the previous post said, SJS is enrollment based into divisions. If a team/school has had consecutive success winning their section division, then they can be moved up the following year(s), e.g. St. Mary's.

See links below how teams/schools and Turlock qualified for the SJS playoffs. Turlock is in the CCAL league.
